Huddersfield Town's 1938–39 campaign was the last full season of football before the start of World War II. Town would finish 19th in Division 1, but they had another brilliant FA Cup run, following from the previous season's runner-up spot, by reaching the semi-finals, before losing to Portsmouth.

The 2004–05 season in English football was Aston Villa F.C.'s 13th consecutive season in the FA Premier League, and their second season under the management of David O'Leary.

During the 2003–04 English football season, Aston Villa competed in the Premier League. Former Leeds United manager David O'Leary was appointed Villa manager in the summer of 2003.

During the 1994–95 English football season, Tottenham Hotspur F.C. competed in the FA Premier League.

During the 1997–98 English football season, Leicester City competed in the FA Premier League.

The 1989–90 Aston Villa season saw the football club competing in the Football League First Division. A lowly 17th the previous season, Villa improved drastically and spent most of the season challenging for the title though finishing in second behind Liverpool. This was Villa's highest finish since 1980–81, and a great result for a team in the second season of the top flight. At the end of the season Jozef Vengloš became the first manager from outside of Britain of a top flight club in English football history.

During the 1992–93 English football season, Crystal Palace F.C. competed in the inaugural season of the FA Premier League.

The Crystal Palace F.C. Under-21s is the Under-21 Development team of Crystal Palace Football Club. They play in Premier League 2, the top level of reserve football in England and also compete in the Premier League Cup, Premier League International Cup and EFL Trophy.
