FIBA Intercontinental Cup MVP

The FIBA Intercontinental Cup Most Valuable Player (MVP) Award is the award bestowed to the player that is deemed to be the most valuable player" of the FIBA Intercontinental Cup official world basketball club championship. The winner of the award is decided by FIBA and is given after the final of the competition, usually to a player on the winning team.

Contents

The first MVP award was given in 1977 to Walt Szczerbiak, and has been given to eleven other players since. No individual player has won the award more than once.

Marcelo "Marcelinho" Tieppo Huertas is a Brazilian professional basketball player and the team captain for Lenovo Tenerife of the Spanish Liga ACB and the Basketball Champions League. He is also a member of the senior men's Brazilian national basketball team, and holds Italian citizenship. At 32 years old he was the second oldest rookie in the NBA after Pablo Prigioni and before Andre Ingram. After signing with the Lakers in 2015 he played 1+12 seasons with the Lakers before returning to Spain in 2017.

Basketballin Greece erupted with the win of the Greece men's national basketball team at the 1987 EuroBasket in Athens, which caused a general basketball euphoria in the country. Since then, the Greece men's national teams have achieved consistent international success, leading Greece to join Russia, Serbia, Croatia, Italy, Spain, France, and Lithuania in the circle of European basketball powers. The 2013 FIBA Intercontinental Cup was the 23rd edition of the FIBA Intercontinental Cup for men's professional basketball clubs and the 22nd edition of the tournament being in the form of a true intercontinental tournament for clubs. The 2 game aggregate score tournament took place at the Ginásio José Corrêa arena in Barueri, São Paulo, Brazil, on October 4 and October 6, 2013, in order to determine the world club champion. The tournament was contested between the 2012–13 season EuroLeague champions, Olympiacos, and the 2013 FIBA Americas League champions, Pinheiros Sky.

The 2014 FIBA Intercontinental Cup was the 24th edition of the FIBA Intercontinental Cup for men's professional basketball clubs and the 23rd edition of the tournament being in the form of a true intercontinental tournament for clubs. The 2 game aggregate score tournament took place at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on September 26 and September 28, 2014, in order to determine the world club champion. The tournament was contested between the 2013–14 season EuroLeague champions, Maccabi Electra, and the 2014 FIBA Americas League champions, Flamengo.

Bruno Fitipaldo Rodríguez is an Uruguayan-Italian professional basketball player for Lenovo Tenerife of the Spanish Liga ACB and the Basketball Champions League. Standing at a height of 1.84 m, he plays at the point guard and shooting guard positions.

The 2022 FIBA Intercontinental Cup was the 31st edition of the FIBA Intercontinental Cup. The tournament was held in February 2022. The competition was played in the Hassan Moustafa Sports Hall in Cairo, the first time the competition was hosted in Egypt, as well as the first time in Africa.
