Fana Vincent "Fidel" Mlombo (born 21 December 1964) is a South African politician and trade unionist who has been Mpumalanga's Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Culture,Sports and Recreation and has represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature since August 2016. He was formerly the Provincial Secretary of the Mpumalanga branch of the Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) from 2009 to 2016,and he has also served in the provincial executive of the South African Communist Party (SACP). [1]
Mlombo entered politics in 1985 when he joined COSATU. [1] He was active in the Paper,Printing,Wood,and Allied Workers' Union while working at a Sappi plant in Ngodwana,but he moved to the South African Commercial,Catering and Allied Workers Union in 1995 to become a provincial organiser for the union. In 2002,he joined COSATU as a provincial organiser. [1] He was elected Provincial Secretary of COSATU Mpumalanga in 2009 and he remained in that position when he joined the provincial legislature in August 2016. [1] [2] At that time he was also a member of the Provincial Executive Committee of the SACP in Mpumalanga. [1]
In the legislature,Mlombo filled a casual vacancy that had arisen after the 2016 local government elections when Nomsa Mtsweni resigned to become Mayor of Thembisile Hani. [2] He was sworn in on 15 August 2016. [1] In the 2019 general election,he was elected to his first full term in the provincial legislature,ranked 13th on the ANC's provincial party list. [3] As of 2022,he was the Majority Chief Whip in the provincial legislature,with Million Makaringe as his deputy. [4] [5]
Following the 2024 general election,Mlombo joined the provincial government as the Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Culture,Sports and Recreation. [6]
Godfrey Phumulo Masualle is a South African politician from the Eastern Cape who has represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the National Assembly since May 2019. He was Deputy Minister of Public Enterprises from May 2019 to March 2023,and before that he was the sixth Premier of the Eastern Cape from May 2014 to May 2019.

Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko is a South African politician and a member of the African National Congress. She has served as the Gauteng MEC for Health and Wellness since October 2022. She was the MEC for Finance and e-Government from May 2019 until October 2022. Nkomo-Ralehoko was elected to the Gauteng Provincial Legislature in June 1999.
Mmoloki Saviour Cwaile is a South African politician who served as the North West MEC for Cooperative Governance,Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs from November 2020 to August 2021. A member of the African National Congress,he has been a Member of the North West Provincial Legislature since February 2019. Cwaile had previously served as the chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Premier,Finance,Cooperative Governance,Human Settlement and Traditional Affairs in the legislature.
Petrus Simon "Pat" Ngomane is a South African politician. A member of the African National Congress,he was elected to the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature in May 2014. He served as the Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Community Safety,Security and Liaison from August 2016 until May 2019,when he was appointed MEC for Finance,Economic Development and Tourism. Ngomane served in the position until an executive council reshuffle in February 2021.
James Jim "JJ" Skosana was a South African politician. A member of the African National Congress,he served in the South African National Assembly from May 2009 to February 2018,when he became a member of the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature. In March 2021 Skosana was elected as the deputy speaker of the provincial legislature.
Motlalepula Ziphora Rosho is a South African politician. A member of the African National Congress,she was elected deputy speaker of the North West Provincial Legislature in 2010. In 2012 she was appointed as the Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Economic Development,Environment,Conservation and Tourism in the North West Provincial Government. Rosho was discharged from the executive council in 2014 and then served in the provincial legislature as a committee chairperson until December 2018,when she returned to the executive as MEC for Local Government and Human Settlement. Rosho was appointed as MEC for Finance after the 2019 elections. After the 2024 election,she became the chief whip of the house in the legislature.
Fikile Zachariah "Slovo" Majola is a South African politician and former trade unionist who served as the Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry till 2024. He has represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the National Assembly till 2024,and before that he was the general secretary of the National Education,Health and Allied Workers' Union (Nehawu) from 1998 to 2014.
Violet Sizani Siwela was a South African politician from Mpumalanga. She was a Member of the National Assembly,where she chaired the Portfolio Committee on Small Business Development,and a member of the National Executive Committee of the African National Congress (ANC). She served in the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature until May 2019.
The Executive Council of Mpumalanga is the cabinet of the executive branch of the provincial government in the South African province of Mpumalanga. The Members of the Executive Council (MECs) are appointed from among the members of the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature by the Premier of Mpumalanga,an office held since June 2024 by Mandla Ndlovu.
Blessing Thandi Shongwe is a South African politician. She formerly served as Speaker of the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature from 2014 until March 2018,when she was first appointed to the Mpumalanga Executive Council as the MEC for Culture,Sport and Recreation. Following the 2019 election,she was moved to the Social Development portfolio before returning as the MEC for Culture,Sport and Recreation in February 2021. She left the provincial legislature in May 2024. She is a member of the African National Congress (ANC).
Sebonta Desbo Mohono is a South African politician who is currently serving as the speaker of the North West Provincial Legislature. Since 2009,she has served continuously in the North West Provincial Legislature and the Executive Council of the North West,including as MEC for Tourism from 2014 to 2018 and as the MEC for Agriculture and Rural Development from December 2018 until June 2024.
Xitlhangoma Mabasa,also known as Bob Mabaso,is a South African politician and former trade unionist from Gauteng. He represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the National Assembly from 2008 to 2019,serving the Gauteng constituency from 2009 onwards.

Mzikayifani Andries Gamede is a South African politician who served in the Mpumalanga Executive Council from February 2013 until May 2019,when he declined to stand for re-election to the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature. A member of the African National Congress (ANC),he served as Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Human Settlements from 2013 to 2014 and as MEC for Agriculture,Rural Development,Land and Environmental Affairs from 2014 to 2019. He is also a former mayor of Mkhondo Local Municipality and of Gert Sibande District Municipality,and he founded the Independent Community Movement Association,which is active in that region.
Jacob Israel Mabena is a South African politician,businessman and former trade unionist who represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature and Mpumalanga Executive Council until 2005,when he was fired from the Executive Council by Premier Thabang Makwetla. He is also a former president of the Chemical,Energy,Paper,Printing,Wood and Allied Workers' Union and a former provincial secretary of the Congress of South African Trade Unions in the Eastern Transvaal.
Jerry Dimotana Thibedi is a South African politician who represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the National Assembly from 2010 to 2019 and in the North West Provincial Legislature from 1994 to 2009. He was the inaugural Speaker of the North West Provincial Legislature between 1994 and 1999 and subsequently served in the North West Executive Council between 1999 and 2009 under Premiers Popo Molefe and Edna Molewa.
Sizeni Grace Pampiri-Bothman is a South African politician who represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the National Assembly from November 2010 to May 2014. She has been a member of the Central Committee of the South African Communist Party (SACP) since 2012.
