Makhosazane Christine Masilela is a South African politician who has represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature since 2019. She was appointed Speaker of the Provincial Legislature in March 2021. Masilela was appoinrted Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Economic Development and Tourism in June 2024.
Masilela was elected to her legislative seat in the 2019 general election,ranked 19th on the ANC's provincial party list. [1] On 2 March 2021,she was elected unopposed as Speaker of the provincial legislature,with James Skosana as her deputy. [2] Masilela and Skosana succeeded Busisiwe Shiba and her deputy Vusi Mkhatshwa,who had left their offices to join the Mpumalanga Executive Council. [3] Masilela's appointment was welcomed by the opposition Democratic Alliance and Freedom Front Plus. [2]
She is also active in the ANC's Ehlanzeni regional branch,the party's largest branch in Mpumalanga. In April 2022,at a party elective conference in White River,she was elected Deputy Regional Chairperson of the Ehlanzeni ANC,beating Momotho Thumbathi in a vote. [4] She stood for the position as Jackie Macie's running mate on a slate viewed as politically aligned to Mandla Ndlovu,the recently elected Provincial Chairperson of the Mpumalanga ANC. [5] She and Macie defeated an opposing slate led by Gillion Mashego and Ngrayi Ngwenya,both strong allies of David Mabuza,Ndlovu's predecessor and rival. [4] [5]
Following the 2024 election,Masilela was succeeded as speaker of the provincial legislature by Lindi Masina. Masilela was then appointed Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Economic Development and Tourism by the newly elected premier Mandla Ndlovu. [6]
Busisiwe Paulina "Busi" Shiba is a South African politician who was the Mpumalanga MEC for Agriculture,Rural Development,Land and Environmental Affairs from 2022 to 2024. She previously served as the Mpumalanga MEC for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs from 2021 to 2022,as the Speaker of the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature from 2019 to 2021 and as the MEC for Social Development from 2016 to 2019. Shiba is a member of the African National Congress (ANC).
Vusumuzi Robert Shongwe is a South African politician who is currently serving in the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature. He formerly served in the Executive Council in Mpumalanga province. Between September and November 2015,Shongwe served as acting Premier of Mpumalanga while Premier David Mabuza was on sick leave. He is a member of the African National Congress and was formerly treasurer of the party's provincial executive committee in Mpumalanga,previously the chairperson of the ANC in the Gert Sibande region.
Leonah Lindiwe Ntshalintshali is a South African politician who has been Deputy Minister of Correctional Services and a member of the National Assembly of South Africa since 2024,representing the African National Congress. She was previously Mpumalanga's Member of the Executive Council for Arts,Sports,Culture and Recreation from 2019 to 2021 before serving as the MEC for Social Development from 2021 until 2024. Ntshalintshali was Mayor of Witbank's Emalahleni Local Municipality from 2015 to 2018.
Tsietsi Peter Nyoni is a South African politician and a member of the African National Congress (ANC) who currently serves as the Deputy Director-General for the Mpumalanga Provincial Government. He previously served as one of the executive directors for the Mpumalanga Human Settlements Department until he was removed in 2013 from the position by then Premier David Mabuza. He was appointed to head the Department of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs in the province in August 2016 until February 2020 when current Premier Refilwe Mtsweni-Tsipane made him the provincial government's Deputy Director-General.
Sasekani Janet Manzini is a South African politician who currently serves as the MEC for Health in the Mpumalanga provincial government,appointed in July 2018 as well as the Provincial spokesperson of the African National Congress (ANC) in Mpumalanga. She was elected to serve on the ANC's provincial executive committee (PEC) in December 2015 from the position of provincial African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) secretary. Manzini served as the MEC for the provincial Department of Public Works,Roads and Transport from August 2016 to July 2018. She has been a member of the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature since February 2016.
Mandla Jeffrey Msibi is a South African politician and educator who has been a Member of the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature since May 2019. He was the MEC for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs from May 2019 to February 2021,theMEC for Agriculture,Rural Development,Land and Environmental Affairs from February 2021 until his dismissal in October 2021 and the MEC for Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs from October 2022 until June 2024. Prior to serving in the legislature,he was the speaker and a councillor in the Mbombela Local Municipality. Msibi is a member of the African National Congress.
Petrus Simon "Pat" Ngomane is a South African politician. A member of the African National Congress,he was elected to the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature in May 2014. He served as the Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Community Safety,Security and Liaison from August 2016 until May 2019,when he was appointed MEC for Finance,Economic Development and Tourism. Ngomane served in the position until an executive council reshuffle in February 2021.
Mohita Latchminarain is a South African politician from Mpumalanga who served as the Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for the Mpumalanga Department of Public Works,Roads and Transport from February 2021 until October 2022. She has been a Member of the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature since May 2019. Latchminarain is a member of the governing African National Congress.

Previously,he served as the MEC for Education from May 2019 until June 2024. A member of the African National Congress,he has been a Member of the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature since May 2009. Majuba was the deputy speaker of the provincial legislature between March 2018 and May 2019.

A member of the African National Congress,he previously served as the deputy speaker of the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature from 2019 to 2021.

A member of the African National Congress,he served in the South African National Assembly from May 2009 to February 2018,when he became a member of the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature.
