Film Critics Circle of India (FCCI) is a society comprising notable film critics from all the major film producing states of India. [2] [3] [4]

At the AGM, conducted at the International Film Festival of India—2013, Subhash Ghai said, "You are in a highly responsible profession. You have the responsibility to look into the growth of civilization and of the next generation. We filmmakers look upon you as God. So guide us in your reviews, tell us where we lack, and how we can improve. But do not mock us. Creative people are extra sensitive, so talk like a mother, not like an opponent." [5]

Kallichanda Prasad Nishan Nanaiah, known mononymously as Nishan, is an Indian actor who has predominantly worked in Malayalam cinema along with Hindi, Bengali, Kannada,Tamil and Telugu films. Born in Coorg, Karnataka and brought up in Calcutta, Nishan is a graduate of Film and Television Institute of India, Pune.

<i>Noukadubi</i> (2011 film) 2011 Indian film

Noukadubi is a Bengali film directed by Rituparno Ghosh, released in January 2011. The movie is a period film set in the 1920s, based on a 1906 novel with the same name by Rabindranath Tagore, although the credits claim that the film is 'inspired' by the Tagore novel because Rituparno Ghosh has taken the skeleton of the original story and woven it with his own inputs – cerebral and emotional.

The venue of the festival is the Prasad Film Preview Labs, Hyderabad. The first edition of the film festival was held in the year 2014. It is the only curated Bengali film festival in India.

All Lights India International Film festival (ALIIFF), is an annual film festival of India conducted in Hyderabad. It is usually conducted in December every year. The 4th edition was held from Dec 1-4, 2018 at PVR Inorbit Mall, Hyderabad. Popular Malayalam film actor and national award-winning director Balachandra Menon was the festival director of the 2018 edition.

Pariyerum Perumal is a 2018 Indian Tamil-language drama film, written and directed by Mari Selvaraj in his directorial debut and produced by Pa. Ranjith under his production banner Neelam Productions. The film stars Kathir and Anandhi, while Yogi Babu and G. Marimuthu appear in supporting roles. The film features music composed by Santhosh Narayanan. with cinematography handled by Sridhar and editing done by Selva R. K. The film follows Pariyan (Kathir), who belongs to an oppressed caste and enters into law college with a lot of hope, and strikes up a friendship with Jothi Mahalakshmi (Anandhi), who belongs to an upper caste, which irks Jothi's family members. He wakes up to the realities of caste oppression and discrimination, after being harassed by them.

Mayurakshi is a 2017 Bengali film directed by Atanu Ghosh and produced by Firdausal Hassan & Probal Halder for Friends Communication. The music was composed by Debojyoti Mishra. The film won the award for Best Bengali feature film at the 65th National Film Awards.

Kautik International Student Film Festival is a 10-day competitive international student film festival, organised by CEFM-the Hermitage, Kumaun University, Nainital, Uttarakhand, in association with the Himalayan Society for Art, Culture, Education, Environment and Film Development (HIMACEEF) promoted by filmmakers/academicians Rajesh Shah and National Award winning documentary filmmaker Shalini Shah. The duo are film faculty members at the University. The festival is attended by students, theatre artistes, cinematographers, filmmakers and ministers.

<i>Half Widow</i> 2017 Indian film

Half Widow is a 2017 Indian drama film directed by debutant Danish Renzu and written by Renzu and Gaya Bhola. The film tells the story of a woman from Srinagar in Kashmir, who tries to find her husband who is abducted by the Indian army. Jointly produced by Bhola and Renzu, the film stars Neelofar Hamid, Shahnawaz Bhat, Mir Sarwar and Haseena Sofi. Because there are no theaters in Kashmir, the film was screened at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre. The title of the film refers to the namesake term used for Kashmiri women whose husbands have disappeared mostly in custody of security forces in the Kashmir conflict. The film's official trailer was released in May 2017. The characters in the film talk in Urdu, with some Kashmiri. The film received a favourable review on Cineblitz. The film was released theatrically on 6 January 2020 in India.

Saibal Chatterjee is an Indian film critic, editor and documentary screenwriter. He was a columnist at BBC News, Business Standard, Hindustan Times and The Financial Express. He has also written for The Telegraph, The Times of India, and Outlook. In addition, he has served as the editor of TV World; and a consultant to Zee Premiere. He presently reviews films for NDTV. He's a founder member of the Film Critics Circle of India (FCCI) and was a member of the editorial board of Encyclopædia Britannica's Encyclopaedia of Hindi Cinema. He has served on the team as well as jury of a variety of international film festivals. He was the festival director of the 2019 Pondicherry International Film Festival.

Mari Selvaraj is an Indian film director, screenwriter, lyrcist and author who works in the Tamil film industry. He worked as an assistant director to Ram. He made his directorial debut with Pariyerum Perumal (2018), which opened to highly positive reviews and received many awards and accolades. Afterwards, he paired up with Dhanush for Karnan (2021), which opened to critical acclaim and was one of the most successful films at the box office in 2021.

The Festival des cinémas indiens de Toulouse/Toulouse Indian Film Festival is a film festival held annually in Toulouse, France since 2013. As its name indicates it is dedicated to introducing the public to Indian cinema.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">51st International Film Festival of India</span> 2020 Indian film festival

The 51st International Film Festival of India was held from 16 to 24 January 2021 in Goa. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the festival went hybrid, there was physical and virtual screening of 50 films out of 224 films across various categories. Bangladesh was country of focus in the festival with four films of the country included in 'country of focus' section.
