The Filmfare Marathi Best Director Award is one of the main awards presented given by the annual Filmfare Marathi Awards to recognise directors working in Marathi cinema. [1] [2] It was first presented in 1975. [3] [4] [5]
Dr. Jabbar Patel is a former paediatrician and a Marathi-language theatre and film director of India. His production of Vijay Tendulkar's play Ghashiram Kotwal, in 1973 is considered a classic in Modern Indian Theatre. Patel received Filmfare Marathi Lifetime Achievement Award at 7th Filmfare Awards Marathi.
Jait Re Jait is 1977 Indian Marathi-language musical film directed by Dr. Jabbar Patel and produced by Usha Mangeshkar and Hridaynath Mangeshkar, under the banner of Mahalakshmi Chitra. The film stars Mohan Agashe and Smita Patil in the lead roles. The film won President's Silver Medal for Best Feature Film in Marathi at the National Film Awards.

Along with Mahesh Elkunchwar and Vijay Tendulkar he is considered among the most influential and progressive playwrights in modern Marathi and Indian theatre.

He is also the recipient of multiple Maharashtra State Awards, Zee Gaurav Puraskar, MIFTA and Star Pravah Ratna for his outstanding contribution to Marathi cinema.
The Purushottam Karandak is an annual inter-collegiate Marathi one-act play competition where students from across Maharashtra participate while representing their respective colleges. The inter-collegiate one-act play competition is known for giving a platform to amateur actors, some of whom have become professional actors, directors and playwrights. In the 2023 edition of the event, the primary rounds will take place from 16 August to 30 August.
Jhimma is a 2021 Indian Marathi-language drama film directed by Hemant Dhome for Chalchitra Company. The film, written by Irawati Karnik and based on a story by Dhome, has an ensemble cast of Suhas Joshi, Nirmiti Sawant, Sonalee Kulkarni, Siddharth Chandekar, Kshitee Jog, Suchitra Bandekar, Mrinmayee Godbole, and Sayali Sanjeev. The story of the film revolves around a group of seven women travelling to London and discovering themselves. It was theatrically released on 19 November 2021, and grossed ₹14.07 crore (US$1.7 million) at the box office, becoming the second highest grossing Marathi film of 2021.
Dhurala is a 2020 Indian Marathi-language political drama film directed by Sameer Vidwans. It stars an ensemble cast including starring Ankush Chaudhari, Alka Kubal, Sai Tamhankar, Siddhartha Jadhav, Sonalee Kulkarni, Amey Wagh, Umesh Kamat and Prasad Oak. The film is and written by Kshitij Patwardhan and revolves around the story of gram panchayat elections in a small village in Maharashtra.
The Filmfare Best Lyricist Award is given by the Filmfare magazine as part of its annual Filmfare Awards for Marathi Cinema, to the best lyricist of a soundtrack. This category was first presented in 2014. Guru Thakur was the first recipient of this award for his song "Maauli Maauli" from the film Lai Bhaari. Each individual entry shows the title followed by the production company and the producer.
