The Peter G. Van Winkle House was a historic home located in the Julia-Ann Square Historic District in Parkersburg, Wood County, West Virginia. It was built between about 1880 and 1899, and was a two-story duplex in the Queen Anne style. It featured a deck hipped roof with intersecting gables, turrets, and dormers. It was built on property once owned by former United States Senator Peter G. Van Winkle, who died in 1872.

It encompasses all houses on Ann and Juliana Streets from Riverview Cemetery to 9th Street. There are 116 contributing buildings and one contributing site. The majority of the houses were constructed between 1875 and 1915.

It was built in 1832, and is a 1+1⁄2-story, brick meeting house building with Gothic style design elements. It measures 36 feet long by 40 feet wide and sits on a thick limestone foundation. It features a 10 feet by 16 feet frame tower, topped with an octagonal cap and belfry.

Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church was a historic African Methodist Episcopal church located at 820 Clay Street in Parkersburg, Wood County, West Virginia. It was built in 1887 and was a two-story, stucco building in a vernacular interpretation of the Gothic Revival style. It was one of three black churches in Parkersburg and was the oldest black church building in west-central West Virginia. The church was located in a neighborhood of late 19th-century wood-frame houses only a block from downtown.

Hays-Gerrard House is a historic home located at Gerrardstown, Berkeley County, West Virginia. It was built about 1743 and is a two-story, three bay wide limestone dwelling. It measures 16 feet by 27 feet and has a steeply pitched gable roof. The property was the site of the first Baptist church in the area and home to Rev. John Gerrard, first Baptist minister west of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The house was restored in the 1970s.

It was built in 1917, and is a rectangular frame building with a front gable-roof and set a cut sandstone foundation. It is clad in wood clapboard and features lancet windows and a prominent, recessed entrance in the Late Gothic Revival style. It was constructed by Coal Baron Major W.T. Tam's carpenters for use by coal miners and their families at the Wyco coal town.

The district includes 63 contributing buildings in a residential area of Bluefield known as Oakland Addition, originally platted in 1910. The buildings are primarily single-family residences with a few multiple family dwellings, and one church, the College Avenue Baptist Church. Houses are representative of popular architectural styles from the turn of the 20th century, including American Four Square, Bungalow, Colonial Revival, and Classical Revival. A number of the homes were designed by architect Alex B. Mahood.

It is to the east of the Julia-Ann Square Historic District and south of the Parkersburg High School-Washington Avenue Historic District. Primarily residential, it encompasses 109 acres and includes churches, a school, and a small commercial area. Built as Parkersburg's first "suburb" in the late-19th and early-20th century in popular architectural style such as Colonial Revival and Queen Anne, the district exhibits 12 distinctive types of Historic architecture. There are 358 contributing buildings, 59 of which are considered to be pivotal. U.S. Senator Johnson N. Camden (1826-1908) owned most of the land now included in the district. Located in the district are the separately listed Parkersburg Women's Club and the First Presbyterian Church/Calvary Temple Evangelical Church.

The Parkersburg High School was built in 1917 north of the Avery Street Historic District in the Jacobethan Revival style. It was designed by Ohio architect Frank Packard (1866-1923).
