The politics of Mongolia takes place in a framework of a semi-presidential multi-party representative democracy. Executive power is exercised by the government, which is headed by the prime minister. The president is the head of state, but holds limited authority over the executive branch of the government, unlike full presidential republics like the United States. Legislative power is vested in parliament. The judiciary is independent of the executive and the legislature.
Mongolia has diplomatic relations with all 192 UN states, the Holy See, the State of Palestine and the European Union.
The prime minister of Mongolia is the head of government of Mongolia and heads the Government of Mongolia. The prime minister is appointed by the Mongolian parliament or the State Great Khural, and can be removed by the parliament with a vote of no confidence.
The National University of Mongolia, abbreviated NUM or MUIS, is a public university primarily located in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. Established in 1942, it is the oldest institution of higher learning in Mongolia, and was originally named in honour of then-Prime Minister Khorloogiin Choibalsan as Choibalsan State University. It hosts 5 main faculties in Ulaanbaatar, two branches, and three academies of national importance.
Bilateral relations between Mongolia and the United States formalized in 1987 with the establishment of diplomatic relations. Since then, the United States has become a key third neighbor to Mongolia, and in 2019 this relationship was upgraded to a strategic partnership. Khaan Khuns-Erchim Football Club is a professional football club from Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia who have been playing in the Mongolian Premier League, which they have won ten times, since its inaugural year in 1996. The Mongolian Football Federation applied to enter the 2012 AFC President's Cup, and was approved by the AFC in November 2011. As winners of the 2012 Super Cup, Erchim were awarded the place in the competition. In 2017 the club qualified for the AFC Cup, becoming the first Mongolian club to do so.
Khajidsuren Bolormaa, or Khajidsurengiin Bolormaa, is a Mongolian mineralogical engineer, as well as a healthcare and children's rights advocate, who served as the First Lady of Mongolia from 2009 to 2017. Bolormaa is the wife of former President Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj. In 2006, Bolormaa founded the Bolor Foundation, which cares for orphans in Mongolia.
Ukhnaagiin Khürelsükh, also referred to as Khürelsükh Ukhnaa, is the 6th and current president of Mongolia, beginning his term on 25 June 2021 after winning the 2021 Mongolian presidential election. He was prime minister from October 2017 to January 2021 and was elected to the Parliament of Mongolia four times – in 2000, 2004, 2012 and 2020.

The 084th Special Task Battalion, named after former Minister of Defense Lieutenant General Shagalyn Jadambaa and also known as the Parachute Special Forces Battalion is the tier one special force unit of the Armed Forces of Mongolia. It specializes in clandestine operation, counterterrorism, direct action, executive protection, hostage rescue, long-range penetration, and unconventional warfare as well as air assault operations. It serves to engage in capture or kill high-value targets, combat search and rescue, counterinsurgency, counterterrorism, irregular warfare, special operation behind enemy lines, and special reconnaissance. It also conducts hostage rescue and provides security for high-level visitors and facilities.
Miss Universe Mongolia is a beauty competition annually held in Ulaanbaatar since 2018, main purpose is to select Mongolian representative for Miss Universe. The winner of the 1st edition in 2018 was Dolgion Delgerjav. The winner of the 2nd edition in 2019 was Gunzaya Bat-Erdene. The winner of the third edition in 2023 was Nominzul Zandangiin.
