Forbidden is the third solo album by American singer-songwriter and YouTube celebrity Todrick Hall with music produced by Jeeve Ducornet and wiidope, released on March 28, 2018. [1] [2]

It is a concept album and visual album that talks about a distant future in which black LGBT people rule the fictitious North-American city of Nacirema Falls, in the fictitious country Nacirema, promoting white racism and "straightphobia" as a critique to nowadays prejudice against the black and LGBT communities. [4] [1]

Music videos

Hall has released the musical in the form of an hour-and-a-half-long piece (as well as each song separately) on his YouTube channel. [5] "2003" is the only song that is not included in the full video, [3] however a bonus music video was released. [6]

Promotion

On March 14, 2018, the music video for "Ordinary Day" was released on Todrick's YouTube channel as the first single from the album. The second single, "Dem Beats" was released on March 22 along with the pre-order for the album. Following the release of the album, every song was released as an individual video. In addition, Todrick has released 6 episodes of a behind the scenes series called "Making Forbidden: Todrick Hall", as well as instrumentals of "Type", "Play", "Forbidden", "Wanted", "Thug", "Forever", "Doll Hairs", "Boys Wear Pink", and "All American." Hall promoted the musical with a worldwide tour, [1] titled Todrick Hall American: The Forbidden World Tour.

Todrick Hall is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, actor, director, choreographer and YouTuber. He aspires to be a role model for LGBTQ and people of color, and includes his experiences as a Black gay man in his art. A documentary series about his video-making process titled Todrick aired on MTV in 2015.

Pentatonix is an American a cappella group from Arlington, Texas, consisting of vocalists Scott Hoying (baritone), Mitch Grassi (tenor), Kirstin Maldonado (alto), Kevin Olusola, and Matt Sallee (bass). Characterized by their pop-style arrangements with vocal harmonies, basslines, riffing, percussion, and beatboxing, they produce cover versions of modern pop works or Christmas songs, sometimes in the form of medleys, along with original material. The Nacirema Dream is the debut studio album by American rapper Papoose. The album was first announced to be released under Jive Records in 2006, but after many delays and label issues, it was released on March 26, 2013 through Honorable Records and Fontana Records. The album features guest appearances from Mobb Deep, Erykah Badu, Jim Jones, Jadakiss, Remy Ma, Mavado, DJ Premier and Ron Browz among others.
