Fox Digital Entertainment was an American digital content, mobile applications, and video game developer and publisher owned by 20th Century Fox (later rebranded as 20th Century Studios).

History

Fox Digital Entertainment was formed in 2010 and took on many of the projects related to 21st Century Fox properties from Fox Interactive, 20th Century Fox Games (now known as 20th Century Games since 2022) and Fox Mobile Entertainment, when that was sold to the Jesta Group and was renamed Jesta Digital. [1]

Projects

It was primarily involved with 20th Century Studios and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer properties such as Family Guy , [2] The Simpsons , Ice Age , James Bond , Predator , Rio , Sons of Anarchy , and X-Men . They have been involved in applications such as FOX 4D, Own The Moments, Skyfall Gun Barrel and The Wolverine Second Screen. They have also been involved in video games such as The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader , Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff , [2] The Simpsons: Tapped Out , and Predators.

The film follows an ensemble cast starring Adrien Brody, Topher Grace, Alice Braga, Walton Goggins, and Laurence Fishburne, and follows a group of proficient killers who have been abducted and placed on a planet that acts as a game reserve for two warring tribes of extraterrestrial killers, leading them to try and survive and look for a way back to Earth.

Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff is a freemium licensed city-building video game for Kindle, iOS, Android, Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8.1 based on the American animated series Family Guy released by Fox Digital Entertainment, Jam City and developer TinyCo. It allows users to create and run their own version of Quahog using familiar characters and buildings. It features an original story conceived by the show's writers in which Quahog has been destroyed and it is up to the player to bring it back to its former glory. Some of the series' main actors, like Seth MacFarlane, Alex Borstein (Lois), Mila Kunis (Meg), and Seth Green (Chris) collaborated with TinyCo for the project.

<i>Family Guy</i> (franchise) American media franchise

Family Guy is an American animated comedy franchise created by Seth MacFarlane and originally developed for Fox. Consisting of two television series: Family Guy (1999–present) and The Cleveland Show (2009–2013), the franchise primarily focuses on the Griffin family and their friends and associates. FoxNext, LLC was a virtual reality and theme park unit of 20th Century Fox, now known as 20th Century Studios. It was established in 2017 prior to Disney's acquisition of Fox and operated under the Disney Parks, Experiences and Products unit of The Walt Disney Company. It handled the development and publishing of virtual reality and augmented reality titles, as well as the development of 20th Century Studios's theme and amusement parks. The division's president was Salil Mehta, a former executive from NBCUniversal and The Walt Disney Company, who has been with Fox since 2013 who later returned to Disney after Disney acquired Fox in 2019 until on January 23, 2020, when the company was sold to Scopely.

Following the acquisition of 21st Century Fox by Disney, the group's assets were dispersed to various Disney units. The film studios 20th Century Fox, Fox Searchlight Pictures and Blue Sky Studios were transferred to Walt Disney Studios, while Fox Star Studios transferred to Walt Disney Direct-to-Consumer & International.
