Frankfurt am Main II is an electoral constituency (German: Wahlkreis) represented in the Bundestag. It elects one member via first-past-the-post voting. Under the current constituency numbering system, it is designated as constituency 182. It is located in southern Hesse, comprising the eastern part of the city of Frankfurt am Main. [1]
Frankfurt am Main II was created for the inaugural 1949 federal election. Since 2021, it has been represented by Omid Nouripour of the Alliance 90/The Greens. [2]
Frankfurt am Main II is located in southern Hesse. As of the 2021 federal election, it comprises the Ortsbezirke of Innenstadt III, Bornheim/Ostend, Süd, West (only Schwanheim Ortsteil), Nord-Ost, Ost, Kalbach-Riedberg , Nieder-Erlenbach , Harheim , Nieder-Eschbach , and Bergen-Enkheim from the independent city of Frankfurt am Main. Frankfurt am Main II was created in 1949, then known as Frankfurt/M II. From 1965 through 1972, it was named Frankfurt II. In the 1976 election, it was named Frankfurt (Main) II. It acquired its current name in the 1980 election. In the 1949 election, it was Hesse constituency 16 in the numbering system. From 1953 through 1976, it was number 141. From 1980 through 1998, it was number 139. In the 2002 and 2005 elections, it was number 184. In the 2009 through 2021 elections, it was number 183. From the 2025 election, it has been number 182.
Originally, the constituency comprised the Stadtbezirke of Innenstadt, Gutleutviertel, Gallusviertel, Rebstock, Westend, Bockenheim, Rödelheim, Hausen, Praunheim, Heddernheim, Ginnheim, Eschersheim, and Niederursel from the city of Frankfurt am Main. In the 1976 through 1998 elections, it comprised the Stadtbezirke of Innenstadt, Gutleutviertel, Gallusviertel, Westend, Bockenheim, Heddernheim, Ginnheim, Eschersheim, Niederursel, Sachsenhausen, Niederrad, Goldstein-Ost, Altstadt, Bahnhofsviertel, Kalbach, and Dornbusch-West from the city of Frankfurt am Main. It acquired its current borders in the 2002 election.

The constituency was first represented by Willi Birkelbach of the Social Democratic Party (SPD) from 1949 to 1953, followed by Walter Leiske of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) from 1953 to 1961. Former member Birkelbach won it back and served another term from 1961 to 1965. Brigitte Freyh of the SPD was then representative from 1965 to 1972, when she was succeeded by party fellow Fred Zander. Karl Becker of the CDU was representative for one term from 1976 to 1980, when former member Zander regained it for the SPD. Becker was then elected in 1983 and re-elected in 1987. Joachim Gres succeeded him in 1990 for two terms. Gudrun Schaich-Walch won the constituency for the SPD in 1998 and served one term; Rita Streb-Hesse held it for the SPD in 2002. Erika Steinbach of the CDU was representative from 2005 to 2017. Bettina Wiesmann of the CDU was elected in 2017. Omid Nouripour won the constituency for the Greens in 2021.

Frankfurt am Main is the most populous city in the German state of Hesse. Its 773,068 inhabitants as of 2022 make it the fifth-most populous city in Germany,. Located in the foreland of the Taunus on its namesake Main, it forms a continuous conurbation with Offenbach am Main; its urban area has a population of over 2.7 million. The city is the heart of the larger Rhine-Main metropolitan region, which has a population of more than 5.8 million and is Germany's second-largest metropolitan region after the Rhine-Ruhr region and the fourth biggest metropolitan region by GDP in the European Union. Frankfurt is home to the European Central Bank, one of the institutional seats of the European Union, while Frankfurt's central business district lies about 90 km (56 mi) northwest of the geographic center of the EU at Gadheim in Lower Franconia. Like France and Franconia, the city is named after the Franks. Frankfurt is the largest city in the Rhenish Franconian dialect area.
Eschersheim is a city district of Frankfurt am Main, Germany. It is part of the Ortsbezirk Mitte-Nord and is subdivided into the Stadtbezirke Eschersheim-Nord and Eschersheim-Süd.
Hochtaunus is an electoral constituency represented in the Bundestag. It elects one member via first-past-the-post voting. Under the current constituency numbering system, it is designated as constituency 175. It is located in southwestern Hesse, comprising most of Hochtaunuskreis and the northeastern part of the Limburg-Weilburg district.

Under the current constituency numbering system, it is designated as constituency 92. It is located in western North Rhine-Westphalia, comprising the southeastern part of the city of Cologne.
The A line is the north-to-south main line of the Frankfurt U-Bahn. It is the oldest and longest line of the U-Bahn system. Served by four routes starting at Südbahnhof Railway Station in Sachsenhausen, the A line runs through downtown Frankfurt up to Heddernheim Station in the north of the city, where it branches out to Ginnheim, Oberursel (U3), Riedberg and Bad Homburg (U2). The U9 service between Ginnheim, Riedberg and Nieder-Eschbach does not use the central section and tunnels of the line, making it the only light rail service of the network that does not serve downtown Frankfurt. The Riedberg and Ginnheim branches were planned as parts of the future D line subway but are operationally part of the A line until the D line development and construction is finished.
U-Bahn Line D is a partially completed north‒south route of the Frankfurt U-Bahn underground rail network, planned since the 1960s. As of 2021 three sections had been constructed and were in use for U-Bahn services, plus a long section operated with trams. As the route is not continuous there are no through services, but instead underground services U1, U4, U8, U9 and tram lines 12, 15, 21 all partially serve some of the stops on the route then transfer to other routes. The planned Ginnheim Curve extension would run via the University's Campus Westend to fill the missing gap.
