Funky Lab Rat is a downloadable-only puzzle-platform game for the PlayStation 3. It was created by independent developer Hydravision Entertainment, and published by Sony Computer Entertainment America in 2010. The game was removed sometime in 2012, but the demo remained available until 2015.

Gameplay

Funky Lab Rat is a puzzle-platform game that makes use of the PlayStation Move . The player plays a disco-dressed lab rat with a magic wand that has DVD-like powers. The player can pause time and rearrange platforms, rewind time to prevent death, simply reset the level, or can automatically finish the level by fast-forwarding. The goal is to collect a set number of pills and reach the end of the level.

Reception

Funky Lab Rat received a score of 73 out of 100 at Metacritic. [1] GameSpot said that "[n]ovel time-manipulation mechanics are crippled by clumsy platforming". [2] GameZone noted the game as too challenging, calling it "an acquired taste". [3] Eurogamer called the game "engaging". [4]

Archer Maclean's Mercury is a 2005 puzzle-platform game for the PlayStation Portable developed by the eponymous British game programmer, Archer Maclean and Awesome Studios. In Mercury, the goal is to guide a drop of mercury to its appointed destination by tilting the stage, in a similar fashion to Super Monkey Ball. Levels come in different varieties that prioritize different methods of completing each level. The game was conceived when Archer Maclean used a previous minigame from Jimmy White's Cueball World and added a liquid metal physics. It was originally designed to have motion controls by using a tilt sensor peripheral for the PSP, but this version was never released due to technical constraints.
