Gargaon College, established in 1959, is a general degree college situated at Simaluguri, in Sibsagar district, Assam. It is affiliated with Dibrugarh University. [1]

Activities

The college holds a debating competition every year on its foundation day, September 7th in memory of its first regular principal Tanu Konwar. [2] Every year the college conducts general election among the students to form the Gargaon College Students' Union. The Students' Union organises annual sports and the Literary and Cultural Week of the college annually. [3] [4] The college has a NSS volunteer unit. Gargayan is the annual magazine of the college.

Dibrugarh Hanumanbax Surajmall Kanoi College is a government college located in Dibrugarh, Assam, India. It was established on 15 June 1945. The college is affiliated with Dibrugarh University; its Higher Secondary Course is recognised by the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC). It was originally named the Dibrugarh College. In 1957, it was renamed after its donors as Dibrugarh Hanumanbax Surajmall Kanoi College. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan came from Delhi to inaugurate the college.

At present with the 2(f) and the 12(B) status of the UGC, the College has flourished into a multi faculty institution offering Arts and Commerce programs with fifteen hundred students and more than hundred teaching and non teaching faculties.
