Texas's 7th congressional district of the United States House of Representatives comprises a small area of southwestern Houston and Harris County, along with a northern portion of suburban Fort Bend County. As of the 2000 census, the 7th district comprises 651,620 people. Since 2019, it has been represented by Democrat Lizzie Fletcher.

Texas's 22nd congressional district of the United States House of Representatives covers a largely suburban southwestern portion of the Greater Houston metropolitan area. The district includes most of Fort Bend County, including most of the cities of Sugar Land, Rosenberg, Needville and the county seat of Richmond as well as the county's share of the largely unincorporated Greater Katy area west of Houston. In addition, the district also contains portions of northern Brazoria County, including most of Pearland and Alvin and all of Wharton and Matagorda counties, as well as a small portion of western Harris County centered on most of that county's share of the Greater Katy area.

Thomas Russell Craddick is a Republican member of the Texas House of Representatives representing the 82nd district. Craddick was Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives from January 2003 to January 2009. He was the first Republican to serve as Speaker since Reconstruction.

Mark Steven Ferrandino is a former legislator in the U.S. state of Colorado and former Speaker of the Colorado House of Representatives. Appointed to the legislature in 2007, Ferrandino represented House District 2, encompassing south central Denver from 2012 to 2014. He is the first openly gay male legislator in Colorado history. He did not seek re-election in 2014, and was the chief financial officer of Denver Public Schools. On November 19, 2020, Colorado Governor Jared Polis appointed Ferrandino to serve as executive director of the Colorado Department of Revenue. He served in the position until July 2023, when the governor named him director of the Office of State Planning and Budgeting.

John McCall Zerwas, Sr., is a physician from Richmond, Texas, who was a Republican member of the Texas House of Representatives. He served as the representative for House District 28, which is primarily located in Fort Bend County. Zerwas was appointed executive vice chancellor for health affairs for the University of Texas System and assumed office on October 1, 2019. He resigned his House seat effective September 30, 2019.

Vicki Truitt is a Republican former member of the Texas House of Representatives for District 98. First elected in 1998, she served for fourteen years until she was defeated in the Republican primary election in 2012.

George Edward Lavender is an American state politician and a Republican former member of the Texas House of Representatives, having been first elected on November 2, 2010 and voted out of office in 2014 after only two terms. He has run for office seven times, including once as a Democrat, and has won twice. He was named as one of the least effective legislators in the entire State of Texas in 2013.

Trey Martinez Fischer, legally Ferdinand Frank Fischer III, is a Democratic member of the Texas House of Representatives who represents the San Antonio-based 116th District, serving since 2019. He previously held this seat from 2000 through 2017. In January 2017, he was succeeded in the position by Diana Arevalo, the secretary for the Bexar County Democratic Party. In 2018, he unseated Arevalo in the Democratic primary for his former state House seat. He won the subsequent general election on November 6 over the Republican nominee Fernando Padron, 32,375 votes to 13,612. Martinez Fischer returned to the House in January 2019.
