Shortly after protests seeking justice for George Floyd, an African American who was murdered during a police arrest, began in the United States, the people of Italy also began to protest to show solidarity with the Americans. [1]
To protest, people knelt in piazzas all over Italy for 8 minutes and 46 seconds, spaced to respect the rules from COVID-19.

At 3:00 PM on June 6, 2020, hundreds of demonstrators gathered in garrison under the American Consulate, in Piazza della Repubblica, for the first Neapolitan demonstration of the Black Lives Matter movement.
