Germany at the European Athletics Championships participated at the first two editions (1934 and 1938) and, after the Fall of the Berlin Wall, from 1994 at all editions of the European Athletics Championships. [1]

UEFA European Championship Association football tournament

The UEFA European Football Championship, less formally the European Championship and informally the Euros, is the primary association football tournament organized by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA). The competition is contested by UEFA members’ senior men's national teams, determining the continental champion of Europe. The competition has been held every four years since 1960, except for 2020, when it was postponed until 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Europe, but kept the name Euro 2020. Scheduled to be in the even-numbered year between FIFA World Cup tournaments, it was originally called the European Nations' Cup, changing to the current name in 1968. Stadio Olimpico Stadium in Rome, Italy

The Stadio Olimpico is the largest sports facility in Rome, Italy, seating over 70,000 spectators. It is located within the Foro Italico sports complex, north of the city. The structure is owned by the Italian National Olympic Committee and it is used primarily for association football. The Stadio Olimpico is the home stadium of the Roma and Lazio football clubs, and also hosts the Coppa Italia final. It was rebuilt for the 1990 FIFA World Cup and it hosted the tournament final.

European Athletics Championships International athletics tournament

The European Athletics Championships is a biennial athletics event organised by the European Athletics Association. First held in 1934 in Turin, the Championships have taken place every four years, with a few exceptions. Since 2010, they have been organised every two years, and when they coincide with the Summer Olympics, the marathon and racewalking events are not contested. From 2018, European Championships not held in an Olympic year will form part of the European Championships, a new quadrennial multi-sport event designed and held by individual European sports federations.

European Cross Country Championships

The European Cross Country Championships is an annual international cross country running competition. Organised by the European Athletic Association, it is the area championships for the region and is held in December each year. The championships was inaugurated in 1994 in Alnwick and the venue for the championships changes each year.

European Athletics Team Championships International athletics competition

The European Athletics Team Championships, is an international athletics competition organised by European Athletics, between different countries of Europe, over 4 leagues. It replaced in 2009 the former and similar European Cup (1965-2008). Unlike most international competitions, medals are not awarded to individuals in individual events but to the overall winning team on a points system.

The 2013 European Athletics Team Championships was the 4th edition of European Athletics Team Championships, first named European Athletics Team Championships and not only European Team Championships as from the 1st edition to the 3rd edition, took place on 22 and 23 June 2013.

The 2018 European Athletics Championships were held in Berlin, Germany, from 6 to 12 August 2018. The championships were part of the first European Championships with other events happening in the United Kingdom.

2022 World Athletics Championships

The 2022 World Athletics Championships, the eighteenth edition of the World Athletics Championships, are scheduled to be held in 2022 in Eugene, Oregon, United States. It was originally scheduled for August 6–15, 2021. However, the postponement of the 2020 Summer Olympics prompted the need for postponement into 2022. On April 8, 2020, World Athletics announced that the event would take place from July 15–24, 2022.

Simone Barontini is an Italian middle distance runner, who specializes in the 800 metres. He has won seven national titles at the senior level.

The 2021 World Para Athletics European Championships was a track and field competition for athletes with a disability open to International Paralympic Committee (IPC) affiliated countries within Europe, plus Azerbaijan, Israel and a refugee team with one athlete. This was the 7th edition of the event. This was also the first time that the event was held in Poland. Around 670 athletes competed at the event.

Alica Schmidt German sprinter and hurdler

Alica Schmidt is a German runner. She was part of the national team that came second in the 4 × 400 metres relay event at the 2017 European Athletics U20 Championships, and third in the same discipline at the 2019 European Athletics U23 Championships. She was previously a fitness coach of Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund. Schmidt was part of the German relay squad at the 2020 Summer Olympics, though she did not compete.

The 2022 European Championships will be the second edition of the European Championships, set to be held on August 11-21 in Munich, Germany.
