According to the review aggregator Metacritic , Get Up Sequences Part Two received "universal acclaim" based on a weighted average score of 86 out of 100 from five critic scores. [6] Editors of AllMusic Guide rated this album 4.5 out of five, with critic Tim Sendra calling this release "a vibrant, speaker-rattling set of songs that have all the bounce and soul of their best work". [7] Writing for musicOMH, John Murphy rated this release four out of five stars, calling this album "audio adrenaline", noting that the band have maintained their "life-affirming" spirit for two decades and opining that "it's hard to imagine the band's usual energy being even greater, but they manage it here". [8]

The B-52s, originally presented as the B-52's, are an American new wave band formed in Athens, Georgia, in 1976. The original lineup consisted of Fred Schneider, Kate Pierson, Cindy Wilson, Ricky Wilson, and Keith Strickland. Ricky Wilson died of AIDS-related illness in 1985, and Strickland permanently switched from drums to lead guitar. The band has also added various members for albums and live performances.
Semisonic is an American rock band formed in Minneapolis in 1995, consisting of Dan Wilson, John Munson, and Jacob Slichter. They are best known in the U.S. for their 1998 top-20 single "Closing Time". They also had international success with the singles "Singing in My Sleep", "Secret Smile" and "Chemistry".
Frou Frou are a British electronic duo composed of musician Imogen Heap and producer/songwriter Guy Sigsworth. They released their only album, Details, in 2002. The duo wrote, produced, and played instruments on the tracks, while Heap also provided lead vocals. In 2004, they recorded a cover of "Holding Out for a Hero" by Bonnie Tyler, which was used in the credits of the 2004 film Shrek 2. Frou Frou amicably disbanded later that year.
The Go! Team are an English indie rock band from Brighton, England. The band initially began as a solo project conceived by Ian Parton; however, after the unexpected success of the Go! Team's debut album, Thunder, Lightning, Strike, Parton recruited band members to play for live performances and subsequent albums. Musically, the band combines indie rock and garage rock with a mixture of funk and Bollywood soundtracks, double Dutch chants, old school hip hop and distorted guitars. Their songs are a mix of live instrumentation and samples from various sources. The band's vocals also vary between performances: while live vocals are handled mostly by lead vocalist Ninja, vocals on record also feature sampled and guest voices.

The album was written and produced by leader Ian Parton after the band was officially dissolved after the promotion of their 2011 album Rolling Blackouts. Vocalists on the album include Emily Reo, Samira Winter, Casey Sowa, Atom, Doreen Kirchner, Glockabelle, The London African Gospel Choir and an Atlantan vocal trio.
