BBC Radio 1 is a British national radio station owned and operated by the BBC. It specialises in modern popular music and current chart hits throughout the day. The station provides alternative genres at night, including electronica, dance, hip hop and indie, while its sister station 1Xtra plays black contemporary music, including hip hop and R&B. Radio 1 also runs two online streams, Radio 1 Dance, dedicated to dance music, and Radio 1 Relax, dedicated to chill-out music; both are available to listen only on BBC Sounds.

On Friday 12 October 2012, Foley and JP announced on the show that both of them would be transferring to Today FM's sister station 98FM to present the breakfast show. They both have expressed how difficult the decision was for them, due to their fondness of their workmates and friends in Today FM.

On Saturday and Sunday morning between 10:00 am and 12:00 am she hosted the program Annemieke Hier on NPO 3FM as well as the Saturday evening program Weekend DNA, between 20:00 pm and 22:00 pm. On September 1. 2017, Annemieke moved after 11 years from NPO 3FM to NPO Radio 2. Annemieke can now be heard Friday to Sunday from 2 PM to 4 PM on NPO Radio 2 with Annemiekes A-Lijst.

It is the Netherlands' longest-running, regularly scheduled TV entertainment show and is also the program with the second-highest viewing figures on Dutch television, beaten only by the main evening news at 8.00 p.m. The show, created by Dieuwke Wynia and produced by BNNVARA, was discontinued after the last episode on 27 March 2020.

De beste singer-songwriter van Nederland, was a launching pioneer programme of the series De beste singer-songwriter abbreviated as DBSSW. It was a music contest program in Dutch broadcast on Dutch television channel VARA and BNN, in cooperation with radio station 3FM, where DJ and broadcaster Giel Beelen hosts the search for best Dutch singer-songwriter talents. The jury included Giel Beelen, Frans "Spike" van Zoest, Vince van Reeken, Jacqueline Govaert (Krezip), Eric Corton, Gerard Ekdom and Sanne Hans. The series was launched on 25 June 2012. The contestants would be tested in their singing and songwriting abilities in various music genres and their ability to work as duos and in bands.
