Gmina Tomaszów Mazowiecki is a rural gmina (administrative district) in Tomaszów Mazowiecki County, Łódź Voivodeship, in central Poland. Its seat is the town of Tomaszów Mazowiecki, although the town is not part of the territory of the gmina.
The gmina is the principal unit of the administrative division of Poland, similar to a municipality. As of 2010 there were 2,478 gminy throughout the country. The word gmina derives from the German word Gemeinde, meaning "community".
Tomaszów Mazowiecki County is a unit of territorial administration and local government (powiat) in Łódź Voivodeship, central Poland. It came into being on January 1, 1999, as a result of the Polish local government reforms passed in 1998. Its administrative seat and only town is Tomaszów Mazowiecki, which lies 49 kilometres (30 mi) south-east of the regional capital Łódź.
Łódź Voivodeship is a province (voivodeship) in central Poland. It was created on 1 January 1999 out of the former Łódź Voivodeship (1975–1999) and the Sieradz, Piotrków Trybunalski and Skierniewice Voivodeships and part of Płock Voivodeship, pursuant to the Polish local government reforms adopted in 1998. The province is named after its capital and largest city, Łódź, pronounced.

The gmina contains part of the protected areas of Spała Landscape Park and Sulejów Landscape Park.

Spała Landscape Park is a protected area in central Poland, established in 1995, covering an area of 128.75 square kilometres (49.71 sq mi). It takes its name from the village of Spała.
Sulejów Landscape Park is a protected area in central Poland, established in 1994 and covering an area of 171 square kilometres (66 sq mi). It takes its name from the town of Sulejów.
