Goldband is a Dutch pop trio from The Hague. The group was founded in 2019 and consists of members Boaz Kok, Karel Gerlach, and Milo Driessen in collaboration with music producer Wieger Hoogendorp.
Gerlach studied music production and produced mainly techno music. After this, he continued with Driessen and transformed the music into the pop music of which the group later became known. Kok was the last to join the group. The name of the pop group comes from the eponymous brand of stucco plaster and thus refers to the industry in which the fathers of the band members work and in which the band members worked, as plasterers. On 19 June 2020 Goldband was named 3FM Talent in the categories 'best group' and 'best album', for their album Betaalbare Romantiek ('Affordable Romance'). In 2022, the band gave a performance at Lowlands festival, which was considered by visitors and reviewers to be one of the best performances at that year's edition. [3] After the performance, their songs " Witte Was " ('White Laundry') and " Noodgeval " ('Emergency'), two earlier singles of the group, entered the Dutch Single Top 100, and "Noodgeval" entered the Dutch Top 40 as well. [4] [5] [6] In addition, "Noodgeval" ended up in the NPO Radio 2 Top 2000 in 2022. It came in at number 55, making it the highest new entry on the list that year. "Noodgeval" also became a hit in Flanders, with a listing in the Ultratop 50. [7] With this, the band had their first radio hit. The album Betaalbare Romantiek also rose after their performance in the Dutch Album Top 100 and entered the Flemish Ultratop 200 Albums again. [8] [9] In November 2022, the band released a new song with the singer Maan titled " Stiekem ". This song was named Alarmschijf at Qmusic and Megahit at NPO 3FM. [10] [11]
On 20 January 2023 Goldband reached the news for possible open use of cocaine during a concert on stage. [12] Driessen responded to the issue on television programme Khalid & Sophie and said that he thought the media reacted narrow-minded. He agreed that the action was not sensible and he advised against drug use but also said that people have been using mind-altering drugs for centuries and that it was not surprising he did that now. He went on to say that it was precisely the attention of the media that exaggerated it by saying that young people saw him taking the drug, while he was only with adults at the party. [13]
In 2023, the group received the Buma Cultuur Pop Award (Popprijs) 2022 during Eurosonic Noorderslag in Groningen. [14] In the same year, they gave a performance at Pinkpop and at Zwarte Cross.
Anouk Schemmekes, professionally known by the mononym Anouk, is a Dutch singer and songwriter. Simon de Wit, known professionally as Blanks, is a Dutch singer, musician and YouTuber. Beginning his music career as a YouTuber, he created his channel 'Music by Blanks' in 2013. His remakes of Bazzi's "Mine" and Post Malone's "Better Now" went viral in 2018 and became his breakthrough.
NPO 3FM is a Dutch rhythmic CHR radio station controlled by public broadcaster NPO. The vast majority of the songs played on-air are rock, alternative, indie and pop, though dance and Mega Top 30 tracks may also air at times.
Caroline Esmeralda van der Leeuw, known for the music project Caro Emerald, and latterly The Jordan is a Dutch pop and jazz singer who mainly performs in English. Active since 2007, she rose to prominence in 2009 with debut single, "Back It Up". Follow-up single "A Night Like This" topped charts in the Netherlands.
Kensington is a Dutch rock band from Utrecht that was formed in 2005. The band's lineup of lead vocalist Eloi Youssef, guitarist Casper Starreveld, bassist Jan Haker and drummer Niles Vandenberg remained consistent for 14 years beginning in 2008. The band has since released two EPs and five studio albums: Borders (2010), Vultures (2012), Rivals (2014), Control (2016) and Time (2019).
Gerwin Pardoel, better known by his stage name Gers Pardoel or mononymously as Gers, is a Dutch rapper. He rose to fame in 2009, due to his successful collaboration with The Opposites on the single "Broodje Bakpao". Pardoel's debut studio album Deze wereld is van jou was released in November 2011 and was certified Platinum by the NVPI. The Nederhop artist is best known for his number-one single "Ik neem je mee", which became the most successful Dutch-language and Dutch-artist hit in the Dutch Top 40 ever.
Niels Littooij, better known by his stage name Nielson, is a Dutch singer-songwriter. He was a member of the Dutch music trio Zirkus Zirkus in the early 2010s, but rose to national fame in 2012 due to his participation in the television programme De beste singer-songwriter van Nederland.
"Papaoutai" is a song written and performed by Belgian singer Stromae. The song was released as a digital download in Belgium on 13 May 2013 as the lead single from his second studio album Racine carrée (2013). The song peaked at number one in Belgium and France and became the best-selling single of 2013 in Belgium. A remix of the song featuring Angel Haze also appears on the album.
Dotan Harpenau, better known mononymously as Dotan, is a Dutch-Israeli singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer.
Venus & Mars is the first studio album by Dutch pop singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jett Rebel, released by the record label Sony Music Entertainment on April 19, 2014 in the Netherlands. The album is composed of his first two EPs, Venus and Mars.Venus was released on May 26, 2013 and Mars on January 15, 2014. Two new songs have been added to the album, "#" and bonus track "On Top of the World", the bonus track for The Amazing Spider-Man 2. On April 19, 2014, these EPs were combined for one album. It is not considered to be his debut album. The album was produced by Rebel with help from Dutch producer JJJ Sielcken for the first seven tracks. Venus & Mars spawned the singles "Do You Love Me at All", "Louise" and Tonight".
Maan de Steenwinkel, also known as simply Maan, is a Dutch singer and actress. De Steenwinkel first came to prominence after winning season six of The Voice of Holland. She has subsequently taken part in the Dutch television series De beste zangers van Nederland and in the Dutch version of Dance Dance Dance.
Janieck van de Polder, better known by his stage name Janieck Devy or just the mononym Janieck, is a Dutch singer-songwriter, musician and actor. He is best known for his portrayal of Pluk in the 2004 film Tow Truck Pluck and the single "Reality" by Lost Frequencies, in which he took the melody, guitar, vocals and lyrics into account.
Jorik Scholten, professionally known as Lil' Kleine, is a Dutch rapper, actor and singer. He collaborated with fellow rapper Ronnie Flex to produce the number one single "Drank & Drugs" and the number one album WOP!.
Duncan de Moor, known professionally as Duncan Laurence, is a Dutch singer and songwriter. He represented the Netherlands in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 with his song "Arcade" and went on to win the competition, giving the Netherlands its first Eurovision win since 1975. "Arcade" became one of the most successful Eurovision Song Contest winning entries on streaming platforms and international charts in recent history. Prior to Eurovision, Laurence was a semi-finalist in the fifth season of The Voice of Holland.

Rondé is an indie pop band from Utrecht in the Netherlands that was formed in 2014. The group consists of singer Rikki Borgelt, bassist Cas Oomen, guitarist Armel Paap and drummer Sharon Zarr. Rondé won the 3FM Serious Talent Award from Dutch radio station NPO 3FM in 2015.
Stien den Hollander, known professionally as S10, is a Dutch singer, rapper and songwriter. She began her musical career in 2016, and was signed to the Dutch hip hop record label Noah's Ark in 2017. In 2019, she released her debut studio album Snowsniper, which went on to win an Edison Award. Den Hollander represented the Netherlands in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 with the song "De diepte", the first Eurovision entry to be sung in the Dutch language since 2010.

Joost Klein, also known mononymously as Joost, is a Dutch musician, rapper, singer, and former YouTuber. Mainly a hip hop artist, his songs and performances often include influences of electronic music, such as drum and bass, hardstyle, and gabber. He has released eight studio albums, two of which reached the top ten of the Dutch Album Top 100.
