Grootaertia is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae from the Afrotropical realm. The genus is named after the Belgian entomologist Patrick Grootaert. [1]
Hercostomus is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. It is a large genus, containing more than 483 species worldwide. Multiple studies have shown that Hercostomus is a polyphyletic assemblage of species.
Acropsilus is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. It is unplaced in the family, having been placed variously in subfamilies such as Sympycninae or Peloropeodinae. It is superficially similar to the Medeterinae.
Cemocarus is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. It is known from South Africa and Namibia.
Chaetogonopteron is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae.
Chrysosoma is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. It is a large genus, with more than 200 species distributed in the Old World and Oceania.
Craterophorus is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae from the Afrotropical realm. It is endemic to the islands of the western Indian Ocean.
Lichtwardtia is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. In a phylogenetic analysis of the subfamily Dolichopodinae by Scott E. Brooks in 2005, Lichtwardtia is considered to be a synonym of Dolichopus, but other authors retain it as a valid genus. Before this, it was considered a possible subgenus of Pterostylus by Oleg Negrobov (1979).
Mesorhaga is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae.
Olegonegrobovia is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae, known from Africa. It is named after the Russian entomologist Oleg Negrobov. It was synonymised with Teuchophorus by Meuffels & Grootaert in 2004, but is considered a separate genus by Grichanov & Mostovski (2008).
Paramedetera is a genus of fly in the family Dolichopodidae.
Sybistroma is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. It includes over 50 species, described mainly from the Palaearctic and Oriental realms. A single species is known from the Afrotropical realm. Until 2005, the genus was thought to be restricted to the Mediterranean in distribution, with five known species. It was recently expanded to include the former genera Hypophyllus, Ludovicius and Nordicornis, as well as some species of Hercostomus.
Telmaturgus is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. It has a cosmopolitan distribution.
Teuchophorus is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae.
Urodolichus is a genus of fly in the family Dolichopodidae. It is known from the Afrotropical realm, Indomalayan realm and Australasian realm. It has been placed in either Rhaphiinae or Diaphorinae, though Grichanov & Brooks (2017) consider the genus to be incertae sedis within the family Dolichopodidae.
Dolichopodinae is a subfamily of flies in the family Dolichopodidae.
Medeterinae is a subfamily of flies in the family Dolichopodidae.
Griphophanes is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. It is known from Southeast Asia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo in Central Africa.
Neomedetera is a genus of flies belonging to the family Dolichopodidae. It contains only a single species, Neomedetera membranacea, described from China. It is placed in the subfamily Medeterinae, tribe Udzungwomyiini.
