Group-Office is a PHP based dual license commercial/open source groupware and CRM and DMS product developed by the Dutch company Intermesh. The open source version, Group-Office Community, is licensed under the AGPL, and is available via SourceForge. GroupOffice Professional is a commercial product and offers additionally mobile synchronisation, project management and time tracking.

The online suite puts independent office applications onto a central server, making them accessible through a web browser. [3] The suite includes file management, address book, calendar, email notes and website content management modules. The email client has IMAP and S/MIME support, the calendar supports iCalendar import, and it can be synchronised with personal digital assistants, [4] mobile phones, [5] and Microsoft Outlook. [6] In the Professional version, it is possible to create templates to export to Open Document Format or Microsoft Word. [4] Files can be managed in an inbuilt file manager, and accessed through WebDAV. [4] Users may be managed within the application or in an LDAP system. [7]

A LAMP environment is recommended on the server, [7] and an OSNews.com review describes the installation process as "straightforward". [7] Linux is recommended as the system software, but it also runs on other Unix systems, including BSD Unix, and Mac OS X. From version 2.17 and up, Microsoft Windows is also supported as the system software.

In March 2010 Group-Office was compared to other collaborative software in the German c't magazine. A special version was included for the bundled DVD. [8]

As of November 2012, the project has had over 420,000 downloads from SourceForge since its public appearance in March 2003. [9] SourceForge made a blog post about Group-Office in 2010. [10] Group-Office has had a stall and presentations at Linux Wochen 2005 in Vienna. [11] and OSC2005 in Tokyo. [12] The software has been translated into 27 locale [13] with local communities in Japan and Austria. [14] Version 2.13 of the software was included in the Dutch The Open CD. [15]

Mid 2012, Group-Office 4.0 was released. The PHP framework was completely rewritten using the Model View Controller design pattern. Version 4 was reviewed by PC World [16]

The software packages are maintained by a small team at Intermesh and has a small developer community, which is contributing features.

The headquarters are located in 's-Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands.

Tiki Wiki CMS Groupware or simply Tiki, originally known as TikiWiki, is a free and open source Wiki-based content management system and online office suite written primarily in PHP and distributed under the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL-2.1-only) license. In addition to enabling websites and portals on the internet and on intranets and extranets, Tiki contains a number of collaboration features allowing it to operate as a Geospatial Content Management System (GeoCMS) and Groupware web application.

Source-available software is software released through a source code distribution model that includes arrangements where the source can be viewed, and in some cases modified, but without necessarily meeting the criteria to be called open-source. The licenses associated with the offerings range from allowing code to be viewed for reference to allowing code to be modified and redistributed for both commercial and non-commercial purposes.

Open-Xchange

Open-Xchange is a web-based communication, collaboration and office productivity software suite, which enables full integration of email, documents, scheduling and social media.

Calendaring Extensions to WebDAV, or CalDAV, is an Internet standard allowing a client to access and manage calendar data along with the ability to schedule meetings with users on the same or on remote servers. It lets multiple users in different locations to share, search and synchronize calendar data. It extends the WebDAV specification and uses the iCalendar format for the calendar data. The access protocol is defined by RFC 4791. Extensions to CalDAV for scheduling are standardized as RFC 6638. The protocol is used by many important open-source applications.

Kolab is a free and open source groupware suite. It consists of the Kolab server and a wide variety of Kolab clients, including KDE PIM-Suite Kontact, Roundcube web frontend, Mozilla Thunderbird and Mozilla Lightning with SyncKolab extension and Microsoft Outlook with proprietary Kolab-Connector PlugIns.

Open Hub

Black Duck Open Hub, formerly Ohloh, is a website which provides a web services suite and online community platform that aims to index the open-source software development community. It was founded by former Microsoft managers Jason Allen and Scott Collison in 2004 and joined by the developer Robin Luckey. As of 15 January 2016, the site lists 669,601 open-source projects, 681,345 source control repositories, 3,848,524 contributors and 31,688,426,179 lines of code.

Bynari is a defunct company based in Dallas, developing server and email software, mainly known for its Insight Family, similar to Microsoft Exchange Server with Outlook.

Epesi

Epesi is an open-source, PHP/Ajax framework for rapid development of web-based, database-driven applications. The framework includes the Epesi CRM multiuser application. It requires PHP 5.x and MySQL or PostgreSQL database server on the server-side and can be accessed using any modern browser. Epesi framework and Epesi CRM application are released under MIT license.

Zarafa was an open-source groupware application that originated in the city of Delft in the Netherlands. The company that developed Zarafa, previously known as Connectux, is also called Zarafa. The Zarafa groupware provided email storage on the server side and offered its own Ajax-based mail client called WebAccess and a HTML5-based, WebApp. Advanced features were available in commercially supported versions. Zarafa has been superseded by Kopano.

MindTouch

MindTouch was an American multinational technology company headquartered in San Diego, California that designed, developed, and sold SaaS computer software and online services. MindTouch was founded by Aaron Fulkerson and Steve Bjorg in 2005. In January 2016, MindTouch announced their Series A Venture Capital funding round, totaling US$12 million. PeakSpan Capital led the round with participation from SK Ventures and SAP SE. In April 2021, MindTouch was acquired by NICE CXone and rebranded NICE CXone Expert.

Tine 2.0

Tine 2.0 is an open-source business software package covering the software categories groupware and Customer Relationship Management (CRM), released under the terms of the agpl license.

SuiteCRM is a free open-source Customer Relationship Management application for servers that is written in PHP.

Kopano is a discontinued open-source groupware application suite originally based on Zarafa. The initial version of Kopano Core (KC) was forked from the then-current release of Zarafa Collaboration Platform, and superseded ZCP in terms of lineage as ZCP switched to maintenance mode with patches flowing from KC. Kopano WebApp similarly descended from Zarafa WebApp. Since October 2017, Kopano Core is also known more specifically as Kopano Groupware Core, since Kopano B.V. developed more products that were not directly requiring groupware components.
