    HD 171238 b is an extrasolar planet which orbits the G-type main sequence star HD 171238, located approximately 164 light years away in the constellation Sagittarius. This planet has minimum mass two and a half times greater than Jupiter and orbits two times closer to the star than Jupiter to the Sun. However this planet orbits in an eccentric orbit, about two astronomical units difference between periastron and apastron distances. This planet was discovered in August 2009 by using the radial velocity method in La Silla Observatory, Chile. [3]

    Astrometry of HD 171238 has determined an orbital inclination of either 19.1° or 162.9°, depending on whether the solution is prograde or retrograde. This, combined with the minimum mass, gives a true mass of 8.8  MJ. [1]

    HD 88133 is an 8th magnitude star in the constellation of Leo. It is classified as a yellow main sequence star. It is slightly more massive than the Sun, cooler and more luminous. Located at a distance of 241 light years from Earth it is not in our immediate neighbourhood and thus not visible to the unaided eye. With a small telescope it should be easily visible.

    HD 81040 b is a massive gas giant exoplanet that orbits the star HD 81040, discovered in 2005 by radial velocity. Its orbital period is just over 1000 days. It has a semimajor axis of about 1.95 AU, and its orbit is quite eccentric, at a little over 0.5.

    HD 43691 is a G-type star with magnitude +8.03 located approximately 280 light-years away in the constellation Auriga. This yellow star is about to stop thermonuclear hydrogen-fusion in its core and eventually expand to become a red giant.

    HD 231701 is a yellow-white hued star in the northern constellation of Sagitta, near the southern constellation border with Aquila. With an apparent visual magnitude of 8.97, it is too dim to be viewed with the naked eye, but can be seen with powerful binoculars or a small telescope. Parallax measurements provide a distance estimate of approximately 356 light years from the Sun, but it is drifting closer with a radial velocity of −63 km/s. It is predicted to come as close as 189.5 light-years in 1.345 million years.

    HD 75898 is an 8th magnitude star approximately 255 light years away in the constellation Lynx. The star is 28% more massive, 60% larger, and 3 times as luminous than our local star. It is a metal-rich star, with 186% the solar abundance of iron. In 2007 the California and Carnegie Planet Search team found one planet orbiting HD 75898.

    HD 109749 is a binary star about 206 light years away in the constellation of Centaurus.

    HD 88133 b is an extrasolar planet orbiting the star HD 88133. It is probably less massive than Jupiter and even Saturn. It orbits the star in a very tight orbit, completing one revolution around the star in every three and half days or so. Despite the relatively large radius of the star, no transits have been detected.

    HD 224693 b is an extrasolar planet orbiting the star HD 224693 every 27 days with a minimum mass 70% of Jupiter.

    HD 106252 b is a large gas giant extrasolar planet about 10 times more massive than Jupiter. It was announced in 2001 by the European Southern Observatory. The discovery was confirmed by a different team using the Lick Telescope.

    HD 45652 b is a gas giant extrasolar planet orbiting at only 0.23 AU from the star HD 45652, with an orbital period of 44 days. It has mass at least half that of Jupiter. As it was detected using the radial velocity method, its true mass is dependent on the inclination of its orbit; if it is low, then the true mass will be larger. Also, its radius is not known. This planet was discovered by measurements taken by the ELODIE spectrograph from 2005 and 2006, and later confirmed by CORALIE and SOPHIE between 2006 and 2007. The discovery was announced in May 2008.

    HIP 14810 d is an extrasolar planet approximately 165 light-years away in the constellation of Aries. This planet has mass at least 0.57 times that of Jupiter and orbits at 1.89 AU in an eccentric orbit.

    HD 171238 is a 9th magnitude G-type main sequence star located approximately 146 light years away in the constellation Sagittarius. This star is a little bit cooler, less massive, older, and more metal-rich than the Sun, although its age is poorly constrained. In August 2009, it was announced that this star has a planet.

    HD 73534 b is an extrasolar planet which orbits the G-type subgiant star HD 73534, located approximately 272 light years away in the constellation Cancer. It is at least 15% more massive than Jupiter and orbits at an average distance of 3.15 AU and takes 4.9 years to complete the orbit in a nearly circular path with an eccentricity similar to Jupiter. This planet was detected by radial velocity method on August 12, 2009.

    HD 87883 is star in the northern constellation of Leo Minor. It is too faint to be viewed with the naked eye, having an apparent visual magnitude of 7.56. The star is located at a distance of 59.7 light years from the Sun based on parallax, and is drifting further away with a radial velocity of +9.3 km/s. It has an absolute magnitude of 6.27.

    HD 87883 b is an extrasolar planet which orbits the K-type main sequence star HD 87883, located approximately 59 light years away in the constellation Leo Minor. It is a long-period planet, taking 8.23 years to orbit the star at the average distance of 3.77 AU. However, this planet orbits in a very eccentric path, which ranges distance from as close as 1.06 AU to as far as 6.48 AU. This planet was detected by the radial velocity method on August 13, 2009.

    HD 98649 is a G-type yellow dwarf star, classified as a G4V, that has approximately the same mass and diameter as the Sun, but has only 86% of its luminosity. It is considered a solar analog. HD 98649 is about 138 light-years from earth. HD 98649 is found in the Crater constellation.

    HD 106515 is a binary star in the constellation of Virgo.

    HD 221420 is a likely binary star system in the southern circumpolar constellation Octans. It has an apparent magnitude of 5.81, allowing it to be faintly seen with the naked eye. The object is relatively close at a distance of 102 light years but is receding with a heliocentric radial velocity of 26.5 km/s.
