Harshvardhan Joshi (born 13 November 1995) is an Indian mountaineer and sustainability advocate [1] from Vasai, Maharashtra. [2] [3]
Joshi was born in Vasai, Maharashtra, and was schooled in his native village. He graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering degree in IT from Mumbai University. [2] He completed mountaineering and outdoor courses at the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, and NOLS. [4] He has climbed six mountains of 6000 meters and above in his mountaineering career which started in 2016. [5] During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, he organized and finished an Ironman 70.3 distance triathlon on World Mental Health Day to raise awareness about mental health issues. [6] [7]
Joshi climbed Stok Kangri (20,187 ft) in 2016. [8] In October 2019, Joshi embarked on an expedition to Himlung Himal (23,379 ft), in the Nar-Phu region of Nepal. [9]
On 23 May 2021, Joshi reached the summit of Mount Everest in a carbon neutral effort by installing solar panels to offset his climb. [10] [11] [12] [13] During his climb, he contracted COVID-19 and encountered two cyclones on his way to the summit. [14] [15] [16] [17]
Santosh Yadav is an Indian mountaineer. She is the first woman in the world to climb Mount Everest twice and the first woman to successfully climb Mount Everest from Kangshung Face. When she was young or in teenage she usually took steps to criticise the beliefs and traditions followed in the society. One of them was the outfit which was followed by criticism of the of girls. She often preferred to wear shorts while all the other girls in her society of the Joinyawas village of Rewari District of Haryana wear sarees and traditional outfit. She was and still is very much determined and have a great knowledge of right and wrong. She said," From the very beginning I was quite determined that if I chose a correct and rational path, the others around me had to change,not me." She climbed the peak first in May 1992 and again in May 1993 with an Indo-Nepalese Team.
Shipra Mazumdar is a Major in the Indian Army, and a member of the Indian Army women mountaineering team. She is a Bengali. She pursued Engineering at Army Institute of Technology, Pune. She did her Basic and Advance Mountaineering Courses from Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, Uttarkashi.
Arjun Vajpai is an Indian mountaineer, who became the world's youngest mountaineer to summit six peaks over 8,000 meters in the year 2018.
Premlata Agrawal is the first Indian woman to scale the Seven Summits, the seven highest continental peaks of the world. She was awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India in 2013 and Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award in 2017 for her achievements in the field of mountaineering. On 17 May 2011, she became the oldest Indian woman to have scaled the world's tallest peak, Mount Everest (29,032 ft.); at the age of 48 years at that time while Sangeeta Sindhi Bahl hailing from Jammu and Kashmir broke Premlata's record on 19 May 2018 and became the oldest Indian woman to scale Mount Everest doing it at the age of 53.

Ashish Mane is a professional climber from India. He has scaled Mount Everest (2012), Lhotse (2013), Makalu (2014), Manaslu (2017), and Kanchenjunga (2019). Ashish is the only climber from Maharashtra as of now, to ascend five of the fourteen eight-thousander peaks over 8,000 meters (26,250ft) above sea level. In 2016, he attempted to climb Dhaulagiri, but due to technical reasons he had to quit the expedition.
