Krushnaa Patil is an Indian climber. In 2009, at the age of 19, she became the youngest Indian woman to successfully ascent Mount Everest, earth's highest mountain. [1]
Her record of the youngest Indian to climb Everest has subsequently been surpassed by younger climbers. [2] In 2010, Patil attempted to ascent the Seven Summits. Her last summit on Denali had to be abandoned due to technical reasons, leaving her one short of completing the feat. [3]
For Krushnaa Patil's family, vacations were always in the Himalayas. She enrolled in the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM) at Uttarkashi for a Basic Mountaineering Course in 2007 followed by an Advance Mountaineering Course in 2008.
Soon after, Patil got the chance to be a part of the pre-Everest expedition, and at 18, became the youngest person to scale Mount Satopanth in Garhwal Himalayas, Uttarakhand. Everest followed in May 2009, when she became the second youngest Indian (after Dicky Dolma) to summit the peak. [4]
Patil reached the summit of Mount Everest and became the youngest person to scale Everest in 2009. In the same year, she summited Mount Vinson Massif in Antarctica. [5]
In 2010, she summited Aconcagua followed by Mount Elbrus, the highest peak in Europe. [6]
Krushnaa was a part of an international expedition on clean water access and conservation program, [7] which, through 2014 - 2020, promoted access to fresh water around the world with a team of eight women, from six continents. [8]
As of 2018, Krushnaa is a chef at a restaurant in Srinagar. [9]
Vinson Massif is a large mountain massif in Antarctica that is 21 km (13 mi) long and 13 km (8 mi) wide and lies within the Sentinel Range of the Ellsworth Mountains. It overlooks the Ronne Ice Shelf near the base of the Antarctic Peninsula. The massif is located about 1,200 kilometres (750 mi) from the South Pole. Vinson Massif was discovered in January 1958 by U.S. Navy aircraft. In 1961, the Vinson Massif was named by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN), after Carl G. Vinson, United States congressman from the state of Georgia, for his support for Antarctic exploration. On November 1, 2006, US-ACAN declared Mount Vinson and Vinson Massif to be separate entities. Vinson Massif lies within the unrecognised Chilean claim under the Antarctic Treaty System.
The Seven Summits are the highest mountains on each of the seven traditional continents. On 30 April 1985, Richard Bass became the first climber to reach the summit of all seven.

She is from Bomdila, headquarters of West Kameng district, Arunachal Pradesh - the state that holds the most north-eastern position in India. She was awarded India's fourth-highest civilian award the Padma Shri in 2021.
Carina Dayondon is a Filipina mountaineer, adventurer, and Philippine Coast Guard officer who was the first Filipina to reach the Seven Summits, the seven tallest mountains in every continent in the world, and the second Filipina to reach the summit of Mount Everest.
