Heather Butler (born November 7, 1993) is an American professional basketball player and coach. In 2019, she won the Icelandic championship and the Icelandic Cup with Valur. She previously played in the WNBA for the San Antonio Stars. [1]
Butler played college basketball for Tennessee-Martin, helping the school to four Ohio Valley Conference titles. [1] She finished her career as the top scorer in UT Martin and Ohio Valley Conference history with 2,865 points which ranked 16th on the NCAA's all-time leaderboard. She was named the 2014 OVC Player of the Year, and ranked ninth in the country in scoring with 23.6 points per game. She scored in double figures in 129 consecutive games, every game of her career, ranking as the second longest streak in NCAA history, [2] and tied a then NCAA three-point record with 392 career three-pointers made. In 2014, Butler was inducted into the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame. [4]

After going undrafted in the 2014 WNBA draft, Butler signed a training camp contract with the San Antonio Stars. [6] She went on to appear in 11 games for the Stars during the 2014 season. In July 2014, Butler signed Polish club MKK Siedlce. [7] [8]
In 2016, Butler participated in the Connecticut Sun training camp. [1]
She joined Uppsala Basket of the Swedish Basketligan dam in January 2017 where she went on to average 21.7 points in 14 games. She returned to Uppsala for the 2017–2018 season and averaged 21.9 points and 5.1 assists per game in 22 games. [9]
In November 2018, Butler signed with Valur of the Icelandic Úrvalsdeild kvenna, replacing Brooke Johnson. [10] On 16 February 2019, she won the Icelandic Cup after Valur defeated Stjarnan in the Cup finals, 74–90. In the game, Butler had 15 points and 8 assists. [11] On 27 April 2019, she helped Valur win its first ever national championship after beating Keflavík in the Úrvalsdeild finals 3-0. [12] In 29 regular season and playoffs games, Butler averaged 21.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game.
In 2015, Butler was hired as an assistant coach at Tennessee-Martin. [13]
Hlynur Elías Bæringsson is an Icelandic professional basketball player for Stjarnan of the Úrvalsdeild karla and a member of the Icelandic national basketball team. He won the Icelandic championship in 2010 as a member of Snæfell and the Swedish championship in 2011 as a member of Sundsvall Dragons.

Sigrún Sjöfn Ámundadóttir is an Icelandic former basketball player. During her career, she has won the Icelandic championship two times, in 2006 and 2007, and the Icelandic Basketball Cup four times. She is the Úrvalsdeild kvenna all-time career leader in rebounds and games played and in the league's top four in scoring, assists and steals.
Berglind Lára Gunnarsdóttir is an Icelandic basketball coach and former player who played 26 games for the Icelandic national basketball team. She spent her entire playing career with Snæfell where she won three straight national championships from 2014 to 2016 and the Icelandic Basketball Cup in 2016. In 2017, she was named to the Úrvalsdeild Domestic All-First Team.
Hildur Björg Kjartansdóttir is an Icelandic former basketball player. She was named the Icelandic Women's Basketball Player of the Year twice, in 2017 and 2018, and was a four time selection to the Úrvalsdeild Domestic All-First Team. During her career, she won the Icelandic championship three times and the Icelandic Cup once.
Brittanny Dinkins is an American professional basketball player. She played college basketball for Southern Mississippi where she was named the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year and to the All-Tournament Team in 2017. Following her college career, she went on to play professionally in Iceland where she was named the Icelandic Cup MVP in 2018 and the Úrvalsdeild Foreign Player of the Year in 2019. The same year, she won the Chilean League championship with Colegio Los Leones Quilpe.
Frank Aron Booker is an American-Icelandic basketball player who plays for the Úrvalsdeild karla club Valur. In 2019, he debuted with the Icelandic national basketball team.
The 2018–19 Úrvalsdeild kvenna was the 62nd season of the Úrvalsdeild kvenna, the top tier women's basketball league on Iceland. The season started on 3 October 2018 and concluded on 27 April 2019 with Valur winning their first title after beating Keflavík 3–0 in the Úrvalsdeild finals.

The Valur women's basketball team, commonly known as Valur, is a basketball team based in Reykjavík, Iceland. It is part of the Valur multi-sport club. In 2019, it won its first national championship.
Ragna Margrét Brynjarsdóttir is an Icelandic basketball player and a former member of the Icelandic national basketball team. She won the Icelandic championship in 2007 and 2009 as a member of Haukar and was named to the Úrvalsdeild Domestic All-First Team in 2011 and 2017. Following her retirement in 2019 she started working as an analyst on Domino's Körfuboltakvöld, a weekly show covering the Úrvalsdeild karla and Úrvalsdeild kvenna leagues.
Kiana Johnson is an American professional basketball player for Belarusian club BC Minsk. She played college basketball for Michigan State and Virginia Union, where she was named the NCAA DII Player of the Year in 2016. In 2021 and 2023, she won the Icelandic championship as a member of Valur.
