Hey Dawn is the fourth studio album by Australian country music singer, Fanny Lumsden. The album was announced in April 2023 and released on 4 August 2023. In a statement upon announcement, Lumsden said, "I was a bit stuck after Fallow and didn't know where to go, and that unlocked it: 'Oh, you just need to wake up, it's a new day, it's a new moment, every day is a new moment, and you just need to be where you are right now. Forget about Fallow, forget about all the other things, just be now.'" Lumsden added, "I wanted it to feel good, I wanted to have fun, I didn't want to think too hard about it – I just wanted to feel." [1]

Zanda Wilson from Rolling Stone Australia said "It's immediately obvious that Hey Dawn has its own unique, different personality. Songs like 'You'll Be Fine' demonstrate this exciting new trajectory, clearly crossing into pop-country territory, with melodic and rhythmic tropes that could easily see the track transition to more mainstream pop playlists.[…] 'Millionaire' then goes and treads more of a country-rock path, with heavier instrumentation including distorted guitar in parts. 'Great Divide' and 'When I Die' are classic upbeat-country affairs; twangy timbre, countermelodies, and call-and-response vocals. And then there are the ballads that Lumsden is so well known for." Brydget Chrisfield from Beat Magazine called the album an "absolute swoon-fest". [5]

Her older brother, Greg Storer, is also a country music singer-songwriter and the siblings have recorded and performed together.

The Hard-Ons are an Australian punk rock band, which formed in 1982 in Punchbowl, New South Wales. Its founding members were Keish de Silva on lead vocals and drums, Peter "Blackie" Black on guitar and backing vocals, and Ray Ahn on bass guitar. The band issued five studio albums prior to their disbandment in 1994. The band reformed in 1997. In 2002, de Silva announced his departure from the band. He was replaced on drums by Front End Loader's Peter Kostic, while Black took over on lead vocals. Kostic was later replaced in turn by Conation drummer Murray Ruse in 2011. de Silva returned as a guest vocalist in 2014, and permanently rejoined the band in 2016. This version of the band would stay together for a further five years and one studio album, prior to de Silva's second departure in 2021. You Am I frontman Tim Rogers has since taken over as the band's lead vocalist.

"Strawberry Kisses" is a song written by Jeff Franzel, Andy Marvel, and Marjorie Maye. It was produced by Chong Lim for Australian teen singer Nikki Webster, which also appears on her first album, Follow Your Heart (2001). It was released as the album's lead single on 11 June 2001 in Australia as a three-track CD single and in May 2002 in the United Kingdom with an additional track. Webster stated the song is "fresh, really bright and chirpy", and also said, "After I first heard the demo, I was singing it that night and I just thought that's a fantastic sign of a good song - something people remember".
