The 2023 ARIA Music Awards are the 37th Annual Australian Recording Industry Association Music Awards (generally known as ARIA Music Awards or simply The ARIAs) and consist of a series of awards, including the 2023 ARIA Awards, ARIA Artisan Awards, ARIA Fine Arts Awards and ARIA Hall of Fame. The ARIA Awards ceremony occurred on 15 November 2023, broadcast on Nine Network and live-streamed via YouTube and Stan from Hordern Pavilion, Sydney, Gadigal. [3] It was hosted by Today presenter Brooke Boney and comedian Tommy Little. [4] After a two-year gap in inductees Jet entered the Hall of Fame and performed a medley of their hit songs. [5] [6] Troye Sivan won the most trophies obtaining four from six nominations, [6] while Genesis Owusu received the most nominations with seven and won three. [1] [2] Nominees had been announced on 21 September. [2] [7] Two related, new categories were introduced: Best Use of an Australian Recording in an Advertisement (duration of 2 minutes or less) and Best Use of an Australian Recording in an Advertisement (over 2 minutes duration). Australian rock group Jet were inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame – the first inductee since 2020. [5] [16] At the ceremony they were introduced by Myf Warhurst and lead singer Nic Cester thanked ARIA, their families and fans; he observed that art and music provide "a place of refuge where thoughts, feelings and emotions can be processed and sometimes shared in a way that can bring people together." [1] Jet played a medley of their hit songs "Cold Hard Bitch", "Look What You've Done" and "Are You Gonna Be My Girl". [1] [12] [13]

Jet are an Australian rock band formed in 2001. Founding mainstays are brothers Nic and Chris Cester together with Cameron Muncey. They were joined in the following year by Mark Wilson. The quartet released three studio albums Get Born (2003), Shine On (2006) and Shaka Rock (2009) before disbanding in 2012. Get Born is their highest charting work, which peaked at number one in Australia, top 20 in the United Kingdom and top 30 in the United States. Its lead single "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" (2003) reached the top 20 in Australia and UK and top 30 in the US. Both Shine On and Shaka Rock are Australian top five albums, while their other top 20 singles are "Look What You've Done" (2004), "Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is" (2006) and "She's a Genius" (2009).
Troye Sivan Mellet is an Australian singer-songwriter and actor. After gaining popularity as a singer on YouTube and in Australian talent competitions, Sivan signed with EMI Australia in 2013 and released his third EP, TRXYE (2014), which peaked at number five on the US Billboard 200. Its lead single, "Happy Little Pill", reached the top 10 on Australian music charts. In 2015, he released his fourth extended play, Wild, followed by his debut studio album, Blue Neighbourhood. The album's lead single, "Youth", became Sivan's first single to enter the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart, peaking at number 23.
The ARIA Music Award for Single of the Year/Song of the Year, is an award presented at the annual ARIA Music Awards, which recognises "the many achievements of Aussie artists across all music genres", since 1987. It is handed out by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA), an organisation whose aim is "to advance the interests of the Australian record industry." Initially, the award was given to an Australian group or solo artist who have had a single or an extended play appear in the ARIA Top 100 Singles Chart between the eligibility period, and was voted for by a judging academy, which consists of 1000 members from different areas of the music industry. 5 Seconds of Summer has won the most awards at three. In place of the usual Red Carpet event, a pre-show was broadcast from The Star's backstage and was hosted by Ash London and Mitch Churi. The pre-show had 16 awards presented ahead of the main ceremony.

Modifications were Best Artist became Best Solo Artist, Best Dance/Electronic Release replaced Best Dance Release, Mix Engineer – Best Mixed Album instead of Engineer of the Year and Producer – Best Produced Album changed from Producer of the Year. Entries for all categories closed on 12 August 2022 and final nominees were announced on 12 October.
