"Higher" is a song by Nigerian singer and songwriter Burna Boy, released on 27 June 2024. Through Spaceship Records. [1] The song made history as the biggest debut for a solo song by an African on Spotify with 1,312,789 streams on its first full day. [2]

Background

The song is dedicated to Burna Boy's hometown of Port Harcourt, where he has engaged in humanitarian work by visiting hospitals and paying the bills of the patients, and also visiting schools as part of his ongoing commitment to uplift his community through Project Protect. [3] [4] [5]

The music video was shot in Nigeria and was directed by Burna Boy and Asurf. It was released on 28 June 2024. [2]

"For My Hand" is a song by Nigerian singer Burna Boy, featuring vocals from English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran. It was released through Atlantic Records on 8 July 2022 as the second single from Burna Boy's sixth studio album, Love, Damini, along with the album. Burna Boy and Ed Sheeran wrote the song with producer P2J. It marks the second collaboration between the two artists, as they were both featured on British rapper Stormzy's single, "Own It", from his second studio album, Heavy Is the Head (2019). On 30 June 2022, Sheeran brought Burna Boy out during his performance at Wembley Stadium in his home country of the United Kingdom, in which the two artists performed "For My Hand" for the first time.

The album was preceded by four singles, "Sittin' on Top of the World", "Talibans II", "Big 7", and "Cheat on Me".
