Hilltop is an extinct town in Lander County, in the U.S. state of Nevada. The GNIS classifies it as a populated place. [1] The area was so named on account of its lofty elevation. [2]

History

The mining district was discovered in 1906 and boomed in 1908. In 1912, a 10 stamp amalgamation mill was built, the mill was later converted to the cyanide process. [3] A post office was established at Hilltop in 1909, and remained in operation until 1931. [4]
