Career

Coming from a completely non-acting background, Honey started his acting career in Bengali serials as a junior artist with non-credited roles. His first credited television appearance was in Star Jalsha's Bengali serial Tumi Ashbe Bole (2015), where he played the negative character of Dr. Vivaan Chakraborty. He came to be known for playing the role of 'Balaram' in Star Jalsha's mythological serial Bhakter Bhagobaan Shri Krishna, and as Rishi [1] in Zee Bangla's popular family drama Bokul Kotha. [2] [3] [4] He appeared as Dwarakanath Ganguly, [5] in the Star Jalsha period drama Prothoma Kadambini, [6] [7] based on the life of Bengal's first practising lady doctor Kadambini Ganguly. [8] [9] Honey moved into the OTT space with a role in Hoichoi's Bodhon. [10] Honey is marking his big screen debut with 'Swapnouraan'. [11]

Personal life

Honey is currently single. [12] [13] He is a self confessed foodie and an ardent sports enthusiast. [14] [15] He graduated in Mathematics [16] from Ashutosh College, and worked as a Medical Representative before joining the television industry. He also conducts acting workshops at a private acting school, when time permits. [17]

Bou Kotha Kao ; is a television serial which was aired on Bengali GEC Star Jalsha. It was produced by Ravi Ojha Productions and was directed by Tathagata Mukherjee. It starred Riju Biswas and Manali Dey in the lead roles, and Ridhima Ghosh as the 2nd Female Lead and also in a negative role. It was one of the most popular TV serials of Bengali television as well as Star Jalsha and it was a blockbuster serial. It ended in January 2012. Later it was remade in Hindi as Gustakh Dil. It was re-aired on Star Jalsha during lockdown period, due to COVID-19.

Anirban Bhattacharya is an Indian actor, theatre actor, singer and director. His first successful theatre production was Debi Sarpamasta, written by Manoj Mitra, directed by Debesh Chattopadhyay. Solanki Roy is an Indian actress who primarily works in Bengali television and web series. She made her Bengali film debut with Baba Baby O (2022) and later appeared in Shohorer Ushnotomo Din E (2023).

Prothoma Kadambini was an Indian Bengali television biographical period drama based on the biography of the first practising female physician of British-ruled India and South Asia, Doctor Kadambini Ganguly. The show was aired on Bengali General Entertainment Channel Star Jalsha and is also available on digital platform Hotstar, that was premiered on 16 March 2020. The show is produced by Shree Venkatesh Films and starred by Solanki Roy and Honey Bafna in lead roles. The show went to off-air on 28 February 2021.

Kadambini is a daily Bengali soap opera which was premiered on Zee Bangla and digital platform ZEE5. The show starred Ushasi Ray and Manoj Ojha in lead roles. The show was launched on 6 July 2020 and went to off-air within three months on 3 October 2020 owing to its deformability of historical screenplay and low rating.
