The IEEE Transactions on Semiconductor Manufacturing is a quarterly peer-reviewed scientific journal published by the IEEE. It covers research on semiconductor device fabrication, including simulation and modeling from the factory to the detailed process level, defect control, yield analysis and optimization, production planning and scheduling, environmental issues in semiconductor manufacturing, and manufacturability improvement. The editor-in-chief is Reha Uzsoy (North Carolina State University). According to the Journal Citation Reports , the journal has a 2020 impact factor of 2.874. [1]
The journal is a joint publication of the IEEE Solid-State Circuits Society, IEEE Components, Packaging & Manufacturing Technology Society, IEEE Electron Devices Society, and the IEEE Reliability Society.
EEPROM (also called E2PROM) stands for electrically erasable programmable read-only memory and is a type of non-volatile memory used in computers, usually integrated in microcontrollers such as smart cards and remote keyless systems, or as a separate chip device to store relatively small amounts of data by allowing individual bytes to be erased and reprogrammed.
Consumer electronics or home electronics are electronic equipment intended for everyday use, typically in private homes. A thin-film transistor (TFT) is a special type of field-effect transistor (FET) where the transistor is made by thin film deposition. TFTs are grown on a supporting substrate. A common substrate is glass, because the traditional application of TFTs is in liquid-crystal displays (LCDs). This differs from the conventional bulk metal oxide field effect transistor (MOSFET), where the semiconductor material typically is the substrate, such as a silicon wafer.
In semiconductor manufacturing, silicon on insulator (SOI) technology is fabrication of silicon semiconductor devices in a layered silicon–insulator–silicon substrate, to reduce parasitic capacitance within the device, thereby improving performance. SOI-based devices differ from conventional silicon-built devices in that the silicon junction is above an electrical insulator, typically silicon dioxide or sapphire. The choice of insulator depends largely on intended application, with sapphire being used for high-performance radio frequency (RF) and radiation-sensitive applications, and silicon dioxide for diminished short-channel effects in other microelectronics devices. The insulating layer and topmost silicon layer also vary widely with application.

The Journal of Electronic Materials is a monthly peer-reviewed scientific journal that publishes studies, research, developments, and applications of materials that produce electronics. The editor-in-chief is Shadi Shahedipour-Sandvik, SUNY Polytechnic Institute.The IEEE/TMS Journal of Electronic Materials (JEM) is jointly sponsored by the IEEE Electron Devices Society and The Minerals, Metals and Materials Society. It is published by Springer on behalf of IEEE and TMS.
IEEE Design & Test, or simply Design & Test, is a magazine is cosponsored by the Council on EDA, Circuits and Systems Society, and the IEEE Solid State Circuits Society of the IEEE offering original works describing the models, methods and tools used to design and test microelectronic systems from devices and circuits to complete systems-on-chip and embedded software. The magazine focuses on current and near-future practice, and includes tutorials, how-to articles, and real-world case studies. The magazine seeks to bring to its readers not only important technology advances but also technology leaders, their perspectives through its columns, interviews and roundtable discussions. Topics include semiconductor IC design, semiconductor intellectual property blocks, design, verification and test technology, design for manufacturing and yield, embedded software and systems, low-power and energy efficient design, electronic design automation tools, practical technology, and standards. Technical articles are peer reviewed.
Chih-Tang "Tom" Sah is a Chinese-American electronics engineer and condensed matter physicist. He is best known for inventing CMOS logic with Frank Wanlass at Fairchild Semiconductor in 1963. CMOS is now used in nearly all modern very large-scale integration (VLSI) semiconductor devices.
IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques (T-MTT) is a monthly peer-reviewed scientific journal with a focus on that part of engineering and theory associated with microwave/millimeter-wave technology and components, electronic devices, guided wave structures and theory, electromagnetic theory, and Radio Frequency Hybrid and Monolithic Integrated Circuits, including mixed-signal circuits, from a few MHz to THz.
IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices (T-ED) is a monthly peer-reviewed scientific journal publishes original and significant contributions relating to the theory, modeling, design, performance and reliability of electron and ion integrated circuit devices and interconnects, involving insulators, metals, organic materials, micro-plasmas, semiconductors, quantum-effect structures, vacuum devices, and emerging materials with applications in bioelectronics, biomedical electronics, computation, communications, displays, microelectromechanics, imaging, micro-actuators, nanoelectronics, optoelectronics, photovoltaics, power ICs and micro-sensors. Douglas Verret is the editor in chief of IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices, and was appointed to that position in 2000. He is also member of the American Physical Society. Verret used to be a vice-chairman of the board of the College of Engineering and Computer Science of Baylor University. He has published more than twenty peer-reviewed, scientific articles.

Dawon Kahng was a Korean-American electrical engineer and inventor, known for his work in solid-state electronics. He is best known for inventing the MOSFET, along with his colleague Mohamed Atalla, in 1959. Kahng and Atalla developed both the PMOS and NMOS processes for MOSFET semiconductor device fabrication. The MOSFET is the most widely used type of transistor, and the basic element in most modern electronic equipment.

Mohamed M. Atalla was an Egyptian-American engineer, physicist, cryptographer, inventor and entrepreneur. He was a semiconductor pioneer who made important contributions to modern electronics. He is best known for inventing the MOSFET in 1959, which along with Atalla's earlier surface passivation and thermal oxidation processes, revolutionized the electronics industry. He is also known as the founder of the data security company Atalla Corporation, founded in 1972. He received the Stuart Ballantine Medal and was inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame for his important contributions to semiconductor technology as well as data security.
The IEEE Transactions on Learning Technologies (TLT) is a peer-reviewed scientific journal covering advances in the development of technologies for supporting human learning. It was established in 2008 and is published by the IEEE Education Society. The current editor-in-chief is Minjuan Wang of San Diego State University. Formerly, the journal was edited by Mark J.W. Lee of the Charles Sturt University (2019-2022), Wolfgang Nejdl of the University of Hannover (2008–2012), and by Peter Brusilovsky of the University of Pittsburgh (2013–2018).
Sudip K. Mazumder received his Ph.D. degree from Virginia Tech in 2001 and his M.S. degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in 1993. At Virginia Tech, he conducted his doctoral work under the joint supervision of Prof. Dushan Boroyevich, a member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering, past president of IEEE Power Electronics Society, and a renowned leader in power electronics, and late Prof. Ali H. Nayfeh, regarded as the most influential scholar and scientist in the area of applied nonlinear dynamics in mechanics and engineering. He also worked at Virginia Tech under the guidance of Emeritus Prof. Fred C. Lee, a member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering and former president of IEEE Power Electronics Society.
Aristos Christou is an American engineer and scientist, academic professor and researcher. He is a Professor of Materials Science, Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Professor of Reliability Engineering at the University of Maryland.
