I.S. 237 or Rachel Carson Intermediate School 237Q is a public middle school in Flushing, Queens in New York City serving grades 6 - 8. The school is located on 46-21 Colden Street and part of NYCDOE District 25.
Judith Friedman is the principal of the school, which has over 1200 [1] students. The school uniform consists of color-coded shirts (green, grey, maroon) corresponding to each grade. [2]
The school was named after scientist Rachel Carson, the writer of Silent Spring which inspired people to name the school after her; it opened in 1971. In 1999 the school took ownership of a park called Rachel Carson Playground, which is right across from the school.
The East-West School of International Studies [3] (Public School Q281) is a combined middle and high school, serving students in grades 6-12 with an emphasis on Asian studies that shares the same building as I.S. 237. It first opened in September 2006 with 6th through 12th grade classes. [4]

Gyeonggi Academy of Foreign Languages, or GAFL is a foreign language high school located in Uiwang-si, Gyeonggi-do, Korea. Students are divided into eight classes per grade by language in which they would like to major. It was originally established under the name of Myongji Foreign Language High School on March 2, 2004, by Myongji Foundation. It was run as Myongji Foreign Language High School for 5 years, but due to declining financial situation of Myongji Foundation, the school was taken over by Bong-ahm Institute in 2008. Consequently, Bong-ahm Institute changed the name of the school to the current name of Gyeonggi Academy of Foreign Languages, with changes in various areas, including the principal, school uniform, dormitory inspectors and operation of school cafeteria. Although it kept the original subjects, or "majors", GAFL's international department changed the curriculum of its international curriculum department to International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in 2011, making GAFL the first Korean high school to adopt the program.
