Superfly is a Japanese rock act that debuted on April 4, 2007. Formerly a duo, the act now consists solely of lyricist and vocalist Shiho Ochi with former guitarist Kōichi Tabo still credited as the group's composer and part-time lyricist. Superfly's first two studio albums were certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of Japan, and their first four consecutive albums all debuted at the top of the Oricon Weekly Album Charts, a first for a female recording artist in Japan in over seven years.
Dancing at Budokan!! is a DVD/BD set and live album released by Japanese recording artist Superfly. The performances featured are from Superfly's December 14, 2009, concert at the Nippon Budokan arena in Tokyo, all recorded on the first DVD/BD. The second DVD/BD features footage of Shiho Ochi's performance with Big Brother and the Holding Company at the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts stop on the Heroes of Woodstock Tour, an interview on her album Box Emotions, and the live performances at the Roppongi Hills Arena free concert. Both of the song's two tracks are used as theme music for the 2011 film adaptation of the manga Smuggler. The DVD edition of the single features footage of Superfly's live concert at the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse which was to promote the release of the band's third album Mind Travel. Superfly has stated that "Ai o Kurae" is a return to the band's old style. "Hi-Five" is the fifth single by Japanese rock act Superfly, and was the last single released prior to the band's debut self-titled album. The main track was used in promotions for au's "LISMO" service in April 2008. The B-sides for the physical release of the album were three of the four tracks from their 2007 iTunes Store set released as Live from Tokyo. "Hi-Five" ultimately reached the number 30 spot on the Oricon charts, while it went to number 7 on the Japan Hot 100.

The song was used as the theme song for the Japanese drama Boss, alongside a then untitled song the band performed as the opening theme. The show's producer Ken Murase decided to go with Superfly for his program's music because of Shiho Ochi's vocal range not only giving the rock music an edgy quality, but also tenderness and warmth. "My Best of My Life" is a ballad that Ochi wrote with the idea of a lonely woman in mind. The song reached the number 11 spot on the Oricon charts, while reaching number 3 on both the Japan Hot 100 and RIAJ Digital Track Chart.
Force is the fourth studio album by Japanese pop-rock unit Superfly. It was released on September 19, 2012. Force commemorates the group's fifth anniversary and was released in several formats, including a special fifth anniversary edition which includes a bonus CD, a vinyl version of the album, and a commemorative poster. Japanese convenience store Lawson will also exclusively sell a special edition of the album which includes a bonus DVD. On the iTunes Store, the album will be packaged with one bonus track, with a second reserved for those who pre-ordered the album.
