The Indian cricket team is scheduled to tour South Africa in November 2024 to play the South Africa cricket team. [1] [2] [3] [4] The tour will consist of four Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. [5] [6] In June 2024, both Cricket South Africa (CSA) and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed the fixtures. [7] [8]

The India cricket team toured Ireland in June 2018 to play two Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is), with both matches played in Malahide. Before the second men's match was played, Ireland women played against Bangladesh women on the same day at the same venue. Prior to the series, Ireland played a tri-series against Netherlands and Scotland as preparation for these matches.

The Bangladesh cricket team toured India in November 2019 to play two Test and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. The Test series formed part of the inaugural 2019–2021 ICC World Test Championship. It was the second time that Bangladesh toured India to play a Test series, and the first time that Bangladesh played a T20I series against India in India. The Test series also featured the first day/night match to be played by either side.

The 2020 international cricket season took place from May to September 2020. 15 Test matches, 49 One Day Internationals (ODIs) and 40 Twenty20 International (T20Is) were scheduled to be played during this period, as well as 8 Women's One Day Internationals (WODIs) and 9 Women's Twenty20 Internationals (WT20Is). Additionally, a number of other T20I/WT20I matches were also scheduled to be played in minor series involving associate nations. The season started with Australia leading the Test cricket rankings, England leading the ODI rankings and Australia leading the Twenty20 rankings.

The Sri Lanka cricket team toured India in January 2020 to play three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. Originally, Zimbabwe were scheduled to tour India. However, on 25 September 2019, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) cancelled the Zimbabwe series following the International Cricket Council's (ICC) suspension of Zimbabwe Cricket. Sri Lanka were confirmed as their replacement for the tour. All of the formats, venues and dates remained the same. India won the series 3–0.

The India cricket team toured Sri Lanka in July 2021 to play three One Day International (ODI) and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. The ODI series formed part of the inaugural 2020–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup Super League. All the matches took place at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Originally, the tour was scheduled to take place in June 2020, but was moved back to August 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, before being postponed. On 9 July 2021, following an outbreak of COVID-19 cases in the Sri Lankan camp, the series was postponed from 13 to 18 July.

The England cricket team toured India during February and March 2021 to play four Test matches, three One Day International (ODI) and five Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. The Tests formed part of the inaugural 2019–2021 ICC World Test Championship, and the ODI series formed part of the inaugural 2020–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup Super League. In December 2020, the full itinerary was released with three venues hosting the entire tour.

The India cricket team were scheduled to tour South Africa in August 2020 to play three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. The tour was not part of the Future Tours Programme, and was aimed at kickstarting the economy of both cricket boards due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The series would have taken place in a "bio-bubble" environment in empty stadiums. Cricket South Africa also made a contingency of playing the T20I matches as late as March 2021, if it is not possible to play them at the start of their summer season.

In January 2022, Sri Lanka Cricket made a request to play the T20I matches first, as the T20I squad would be coming straight from their tour of Australia. In early February, the change was agreed by both boards, with Bangalore hosting a day/night Test match, with the BCCI confirming the revised tour schedule.

The tour will consist of one Test, three One Day International (ODI) and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. The ODI series formed part of the 2022–2025 ICC Women's Championship. The T20I series formed part of both teams' preparation ahead of the 2024 ICC Women's T20 World Cup tournament, and India's preparation for the 2024 Women's Twenty20 Asia Cup.
