The Malaysia national cricket team represents the country of Malaysia in international cricket matches. They have been an associate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) since 1967.

The team had a 30–0 winning streak during this time, from their first game in 1928 until the 1960 gold medal final which they lost. India also won the World Cup in 1975. India's hockey team is the most successful team ever in the Olympics, having won a total of eight gold medals – in 1928, 1932, 1936, 1948, 1952, 1956, 1964 and 1980. India also has the best overall performance in Olympic history with 83 victories out of the 134 matches played. They have also scored more goals in the Olympics than any other team. They are also the only team ever to win the Olympics without conceding a single goal, having done so in 1928 and 1956.

Having played its first match in 1948, it is administered by the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF), the governing body for hockey in Pakistan. Pakistan is one of the most successful national field hockey teams in the world with a record four Hockey World Cup wins.

She also served as the model for the character of Komal Chautala in the 2007 Bollywood hit, Chak De India.Now she is working in Haryana police as a Deputy Supritendent of Police. She is a recipient of the Arjuna Award.
The 2012 IIHF Challenge Cup of Asia was the fifth IIHF Challenge Cup of Asia, an annual international ice hockey tournament held by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). It took place between 17 March and 25 March 2012 in Dehradun, India. The defending champions Hong Kong, who claimed their first title in 2011, did not send a team to this year's edition. Chinese Taipei, winners of the 2010 tournament competed after skipping the 2011 tournament. The United Arab Emirates won the tournament after defeating Thailand in the final and Malaysia finished in third after defeating Kuwait in the bronze medal match.

It was held at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar and at the 20,000 seat Birsa Munda International Hockey Stadium in Rourkela, India from 13 to 29 January 2023. On 5 January 2023, Hockey India launched the hockey anthem, Jai Ho Hindustan Ki for the world cup. This was composed by Prem Anand and sung by Sukhwinder Singh.
