Indonesia competed in the 2017 Asian Winter Games in Sapporo and Obihiro, Japan from 19 to 26 February, supported by Indonesian Olympic Committee & IWSC Indonesia. [1] [2] The country competed in two sports (three disciplines). [3] [4] The Indonesian team consisted of 34 athletes. [5] This was the first time Indonesia take part at the Asian Winter Games. [6]

Ice hockey

Indonesia entered a men's hockey team. The team competed in division two. [7] [8] [9] Indonesia finished in eighth (and last) place (18th place overall) in division 2 of the competition. [10]

Indonesia is currently not ranked in the IIHF World Ranking and have not entered in any World Championship tournaments or at any Olympic Games, but have played in the Challenge Cup of Asia, a regional tournament for lower-tier hockey nations in Asia.
