International Pop Overthrow is the debut studio album by Material Issue, released on Mercury Records on February 5, 1991. The album was recorded in multiple recording sessions between 1988 and 1991, with the total recording costs reaching only $5,000. Mercury Records only expected the record to sell about 70,000 copies. [1] However, it initially sold about 180,000 copies, [2] with final sales exceeding 300,000. [3] It reached #86 on the Billboard 200 album chart. [4] The album was produced by Jeff Murphy, guitarist/vocalist for the band Shoes, at the Shoes' Short Order Recorder studio, in Zion, Illinois.

On April 5, 2011, the 20th Anniversary Edition was released, which included early singles and live tracks. [5]

The International Pop Overthrow music festival was named in honor of this album.

Kasey Chambers is an Australian country singer-songwriter and musician born in Mount Gambier. She is the daughter of fellow musicians, Diane and Bill Chambers, and the younger sister of musician and producer, Nash Chambers. All four were members of a family country music group, Dead Ringer Band, from 1992 to 1998, with Chambers starting her solo career thereafter. British rock band Queen consisted of vocalist Freddie Mercury, guitarist Brian May, drummer Roger Taylor, and bassist John Deacon. Founded in 1970, Queen released their self-titled debut album in 1973. Despite not being an immediate success, Queen gained popularity in Britain with their second album Queen II in 1974. Their 1975 song, "Bohemian Rhapsody", was number 1 for nine weeks and is the third biggest selling single of all time in the UK. "Reach" is a 1996 song by American singer and songwriter Gloria Estefan. It is co-written by Estefan with Diane Warren and was one of two official songs of the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, US. The single was included on the official Atlanta 96 album, Rhythm of the Games. Later the song was also featured on Estefan's seventh studio album, Destiny. The song peaked within the Top 10 in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Norway and Spain. In the United Kingdom, it peaked at number 15. On the Eurochart Hot 100, "Reach" reached number 47 in June 1996. Outside Europe, it peaked at number 23 in Australia and number 42 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the US. International Pop Overthrow

The International Pop Overthrow is an American-originated music festival, devoted to power pop music and related genres. The festival is dedicated to bring classic pop music to the public, and is run by CEO and founder David Bash and Rina Bardfield. Although the festival has over the years featured several major label acts, such as Phantom Planet, Maroon 5, and The Click Five, Bash tries to maintain the grassroots feel of the festival by featuring primarily unsigned bands, and presenting them in a festival platform with similar minded artists.

David Bash is the founder and CEO of the International Pop Overthrow Music Festival, which is held annually in 13-16 cities around the world, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Phoenix, Chicago, Nashville, Atlanta, Austin, Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Arlington, Toronto, Vancouver BC, Stockholm Sweden, and Liverpool UK. The festival is dedicated to bring classic pop music to the public. Although the festival has over the years featured several major label acts, such as Phantom Planet, Maroon 5, and The Click Five, Bash tries to maintain the grassroots feel of the festival by featuring primarily unsigned bands, and presenting them in a festival platform with similar minded artists, where they will be appreciated by both the festival audiences and by each other. Bash personally selects all the artists. Each year, Bash produces a CD compilation on the Omnivore label featuring bands that have played in any of the cities in which the festival has appeared.

The Night the Sun Came Up is the debut studio album by American recording artist Dev, released on September 2, 2011 by Universal Republic Records. Dev worked exclusively with American Electropop production duo The Cataracs and Alan De la Rosa, who helmed the production of the entire album along with co-writing songs with Dev. The production process of the album took place mainly in January 2011 and is currently continuing as the North American release date for the album was delayed from September 20, 2011 to January 10, 2012 as per Dev's request to add more songs to the album, however, Amazon.com announced the album would be pushed back again to March 26, 2012.
