George Henry Dockrell is an Irish cricketer. Dockrell is right-handed batsman and slow left-arm orthodox bowler who plays international cricket for Ireland after learning his cricket at Leinster Cricket Club, Dublin. He was a member of the class of 2010 in Gonzaga College, Dublin. In December 2018, he was one of nineteen players to be awarded a central contract by Cricket Ireland for the 2019 season. In January 2020, he was one of nineteen players to be awarded a central contract from Cricket Ireland, the first year in which all contracts were awarded on a full-time basis.
Mohammad Saif Hassan is a Bangladeshi cricketer. He made his international debut for the Bangladesh cricket team during tour to Pakistan in February 2020. Hassan's mother's family is from Sri Lanka.
Ruhan Pretorius is a South African cricketer. Since 2015, he has played cricket in Ireland, and in 2019 moved to Northern Ireland. In November 2020, he was released by his club, North Down, due to financial reasons. Pretorius will become eligible for international selection through residency for the Ireland cricket team in 2022.

He made his first-class debut for Barisal Division in the 2017–18 National Cricket League on 15 September 2017. He made his Twenty20 debut for Khulna Titans on 24 November 2017 in the 2017–18 Bangladesh Premier League.

The 2020–21 Bangabandhu T20 Cup was a Twenty20 cricket competition that was held in Bangladesh. It was played by five teams, during November and December 2020. In November 2020, more than 100 players began to undertake fitness tests, ahead of a players' draft for the tournament. The players' draft took place on 12 November 2020, with the tournament starting in the third week of November. Two days later, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed the full schedule for the tournament.

The Test series formed part of the inaugural 2019–2021 ICC World Test Championship. The fixtures for the tour were confirmed by Cricket West Indies in May 2021.
Curtis Campher is a South African-born Irish cricketer who plays for the Ireland cricket team and Munster Reds. Campher made his international debut for Ireland in June 2020. In October 2021, Campher became the first bowler for Ireland to take a hat-trick in a Twenty20 International (T20I) match, going on to take four wickets in four balls, becoming one of three fast bowlers to pull that feat off he would later be joined by Jason Holder of the West Indies Cricket Team.
The Ireland Wolves cricket team toured South Africa to play five unofficial Twenty20 International matches and two unofficial One Day International matches against the Namibian national team. Ireland Wolves won the T20 series 4–1. The List A series was won 2–0 by Namibia. Ireland Wolves finished their tour with a 50-over friendly match against a Northern Titans Invitation XI.

Shahadat Hossain Dipu is a Bangladeshi cricketer. He made his Twenty20 debut on 26 November 2020, for Beximco Dhaka in the 2020–21 Bangabandhu T20 Cup. Prior to his Twenty20 debut, he was named in Bangladesh's squad for the 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. In February 2021, he was selected in the Bangladesh Emerging squad for their home series against the Ireland Wolves. He made his first-class debut on 26 February 2021, for the Bangladesh Emerging team against Ireland Wolves. He made his List A debut on 14 March 2021, also for the Bangladesh Emerging team against Ireland Wolves.

The ODI series formed part of the inaugural 2020–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup Super League. Bangladesh last toured Zimbabwe in April and May 2013. Originally, two Test matches were scheduled to be played on the tour, but one of them was removed in place of an extra T20I match.

The ODI series formed part of the inaugural 2020–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup Super League. Cricket Ireland confirmed the fixtures in February 2021. Originally, the first and the third T20I matches were scheduled take place on 20 and 25 July respectively. However, in June 2021, Cricket Ireland made a minor change to the tour itinerary by moving both of those matches forward by one day. It was South Africa's first full limited overs tour of Ireland, after previously playing one ODI in Belfast in June 2007. The opening T20I fixture was the first time the two teams had played each other in that format.
Benjamin Charlie White is an Irish cricketer. In January 2016, White was named as part of Ireland's squad for the 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. White made his international debut for the Ireland cricket team in July 2021.
The 2020–21 National Cricket League is the twenty-second edition of the National Cricket League (NCL), a first-class cricket competition that is being held in Bangladesh. The tournament started on 22 March 2021, with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) using the tournament as preparation for Bangladesh's tour of Sri Lanka in April 2021. The eight teams taking part were placed into two tiers, with the tournament scheduled to end on 29 April 2021. Khulna Division are the defending champions.
The 2021 Bangladeshi cricket season is taking place from 20 January to 31 December 2021. A total of 29 international matches, including 4 Test, 9 One Day International and 16 Twenty20 International matches are scheduled to take place in Bangladesh in 2021. 72 first-class, 5 List A and 54 Twenty20 matches are also being held in this season. All the international matches will form part of the 2020–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup Super League, 2019–2021 ICC World Test Championship, 2021–2023 ICC World Test Championship and the preparation for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup.

The ODI series formed part of the inaugural 2020–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup Super League. Originally scheduled to take place in January or February 2022, the tour was moved back slightly due to COVID-19 quarantine requirements for travelling to New Zealand. In November 2021, New Zealand Cricket confirmed the full dates of the tour.

The ODI series formed part of the inaugural 2020–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup Super League. On 6 December 2021, the full schedule for the tour was confirmed by both cricket boards. Ireland last toured the West Indies in January 2020. Prior to the series, the Irish team were scheduled to play five white ball matches against the United States in Florida. However, the ODI matches were cancelled due to COVID-19 cases within the squads.
The Bangladesh cricket team toured England in May 2023 to play three One Day International (ODI) matches against the Ireland cricket team. The ODI matches formed part of the inaugural 2020–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup Super League.
