Islamic University College, Ghana

The Islamic University College, Ghana is one of the private universities in Ghana. It is located at East Legon in the Greater Accra Region. It was established in 2000 by Dr. Abdolmajid Hakimollahi. [1] This was under the sponsorship of the Ahlul Bait Foundation of the Islamic Republic of Iran. It was granted accreditation provisionally in 2001 and finally in 2002. [2] The idea of an Islamic tertiary institution under the Ahlul - Bait Foundation was conceived in the mid-1980s, beginning with Islamic Training Institute in rented apartment in Ablelenkpe, Accra. The first batch of students (15) were admitted to do a two-year course in Islamic Theology. The school library collection holds around 9,000 volumes. Approximately 55 full-time and 10 part-time academic staff members. Students are about 995 undergraduates (total-1,007 at last count).
