Island Lake is an unincorporated community located in the town of Big Bend, in Rusk County, Wisconsin, United States.

Originally known as Burpee's Place, Island Lake is located along Wisconsin Highway 40, on the northeast shore of Island Lake, 10 miles south of the village of Bruce. [2]

The community has a Church of Christ, along with the adjacent Island Lake Cemetery. [3] The Big Bend Town Hall is located within the community. [4]

Island Lake is located 19 miles southwest of Ladysmith.

Sobieski, Wisconsin is an unincorporated census-designated place in Oconto County in northeastern Wisconsin, United States. It is located within the Town of Little Suamico. As of the 2010 census, its population was 259. It is part of the Green Bay Metropolitan Statistical Area. The Little Suamico Town Hall is located in Sobieski, just east of the Escanaba and Lake Superior Railroad.

DeWalt or Dewalt was an unincorporated area in Fort Bend County, in the U.S. state of Texas. The former community was located on State Highway 6 between Oilfield Road and Farm to Market Road 1092 (FM 1092). DeWalt has been absorbed by the municipality of Missouri City, a Houston suburb. Though Dewalt was noted on highway signs as late as 2013, there are few surviving structures and locations from the original community. In 2006, the Dew Plantation's house was moved from DeWalt to nearby Kitty Hollow Park to preserve it as a museum. The private Dewalt Cemetery still exists within the Lake Olympia subdivision.

The community was originally named Gates after Milwaukee entrepreneur John L. Gates. In 1905, its name was changed to Rusk after Wisconsin governor Jeremiah M. Rusk.

Gaslyn is an unincorporated community in the town of Rusk, Burnett County, Wisconsin, United States. Gaslyn is located along County Highway H to the south of Gaslyn Lake. The community is part of the reservation of the St. Croix Chippewa Indians of Wisconsin. The community was named for David C. Gaslin, a logger during the 1860s. A post office operated in the community from 1902 to 1919.
