Ivan Droppa (born February 1, 1972) is a Slovak retired professional ice hockey defenceman who played 19 games in the National Hockey League for the Chicago Blackhawks between 1993 and 1996. He also played for Slovakia at the 1998 Winter Olympics. [1]

Ivan Hlinka was a Czech professional ice hockey player and coach. He is considered to be one of the most important figures in Czech ice hockey history. A big centre, his playing style was comparable to Phil Esposito, often scoring with shots from the slot. He played most of his career with HC Litvínov and spent two seasons in the National Hockey League with the Vancouver Canucks. Internationally, Hlinka played for the Czechoslovakia men's national ice hockey team and was inducted into the IIHF Hall of Fame in 2002. After retiring as a player, he turned to coaching, leading the Czech national team to gold at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano and spending two seasons with the Pittsburgh Penguins. His legacy includes the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament for national under-18 hockey teams, and the Ivan Hlinka Stadion.
Jaromír Dragan is a Slovak former professional ice hockey goaltender.
Ľuboš Bartečko is a Slovak former professional ice hockey forward. He began and concluded his career with hometown club, HK ŠKP Poprad in the Slovak Extraliga. He most notably played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the St. Louis Blues and Atlanta Thrashers. He also competed at three Winter Olympics.
Michal Handzuš is a Slovak former professional ice hockey centre. Handzuš played for hometown club, HC ’05 Banská Bystrica of the Slovak Extraliga before joining the National Hockey League (NHL) in 1998. Handzuš played for the St. Louis Blues, Phoenix Coyotes, Philadelphia Flyers, Los Angeles Kings, San Jose Sharks and the Chicago Blackhawks, with whom he won the Stanley Cup with in 2013.
Jozef Stümpel is a Slovak former professional ice hockey centre. He played in the National Hockey League with the Boston Bruins, Los Angeles Kings, and Florida Panthers between 1992 and 2008. Internationally Stümpel played for the Slovak national team at several tournaments, including the 2002, 2006, and 2010 Winter Olympics, and eight World Championships, winning a gold in 2002.
Hockey Club Košice is a Slovak professional ice hockey club based in Košice that competes in the Slovak Extraliga, the top tier of Slovak ice hockey. It is the most successful hockey club in Slovakia and the former Czechoslovakia, having won the Tipos Extraliga nine times, the Czechoslovak First Ice Hockey League twice, the 1st. Slovak National Hockey League once, the IIHF Continental Cup once, the Tatra Cup ten times, and the Rona Cup four times. The club is nicknamed "Oceliari", which means "Steelers" in English.
Marián Šťastný is a Slovak former professional ice hockey right winger who played for five seasons in the National Hockey League from 1981 through 1986 for the Quebec Nordiques and Toronto Maple Leafs. Prior to moving to the NHL Šťastný had played in Czechoslovakia for Slovan ChZJD Bratislava with his brothers, Peter and Anton. They defected in 1980, joining the Nordiques, though Marián waited until 1981 to join them.

Richard Lintner is a Slovak former professional ice hockey defenceman who last played for HC Dinamo Minsk of the Kontinental Hockey League and current television presenter. He previously played in the National Hockey League for the Nashville Predators, New York Rangers and the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Frederick Hamilton is a Canadian former professional ice hockey forward. He played six seasons in the NHL, split between the San Jose Sharks, Colorado Avalanche, Calgary Flames and Arizona Coyotes, and also played internationally for Canada. Hamilton comes from a talented sports family – his younger brother Dougie plays in the NHL for the New Jersey Devils, and their parents, Doug Hamilton and Lynn Hamilton, are former Canadian Olympians.

Richard Pavlikovský is a Slovak professional ice hockey defenceman. From 2005 through 2013, he played for Krefeld Pinguine in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL).
Ivan Mráz was a Czechoslovak football player and manager. A forward, he competed in the 1964 Summer Olympics and won the silver medal. Scored five goals in that Olympics Football Tournament. Besides Czechoslovakia, he played in the Netherlands. Mráz later suffered from Alzheimer's disease. He died at Saint Paul's Hospital in Heredia, Costa Rica, on 18 May 2024, at the age of 82, six days before his 83rd birthday.
Petra Jurčová is a Slovak ice hockey forward and former member of the Slovak national ice hockey team. She represented Slovakia in the women's ice hockey tournament at the 2006 Winter Olympics, at seven IIHF Women's World Championship tournaments at the Top Division through Division II levels, and in the women's ice hockey tournaments at the Winter Universiades in 2009 and 2011.
