Career

Peklin started karting at the age of eleven. [1] During his time in karting, Peklin won the Ukrainian Karting Championship twice, in the Bezkorobka Junior class in 2015 and in KZ2 two years later. [2] [3] Internationally, Peklin represented Ukraine in the 2016 Karting Academy Trophy and drove for Maranello Kart and Birel ART in the KZ2 class in his final year of karting in 2018. [4]

After losing out on a fully-paid seat for the 2020 F4 British Championship to Marijn Kremers in the 2019 FEED Racing Program, [5] Peklin made his single-seater debut with Xcel Motorsport in the Formula 4 UAE Championship trophy round in late 2019. [6] Finishing seventh in the only race he contested, [7] Peklin also raced in the final round of the Formula 4 South East Asia Championship at Sepang, in which he took a best result of sixth in race one. [8]

The following year, Peklin raced in the FFSA Academy-centrally run French F4 Championship for his first full season in single-seaters. [9] In his first round in the series, Peklin finished third in race two at Nogaro to score his maiden podium in single-seaters. [10] In the following round at Magny-Cours, Peklin became the first Ukrainian to win a single-seater race by taking his maiden series win in race two. [11] However, even after inheriting the second pole position for the following round at Zandvoort, [12] Peklin was not able to repeat his early-season form and took a best result of seventh in the final five rounds, as he ended the year 10th in points. [13]

Peklin then moved to International GT Open for 2021, joining Team Lazarus alongside Jordan Pepper. [14] In the first round of the season at Le Castellet, the duo won the season opener before finishing fifth in race two. [15] [16] Despite signing for the full season, Lazarus pulled out of the season following Le Castellet, leaving Peklin on the sidelines. [17]

After a one-off appearance in the Italian GT Sprint Championship in late 2021, Peklin was set to contest the full 2022 ADAC GT4 Germany season, but those plans were put on hold by Russia's invasion of Ukraine. [18] Peklin did eventually make his series debut for PROsport Racing at the season finale at Hockenheimring, [19] and also represented Ukraine in the FIA Motorsport Games's GT discipline. [20] [21]

In 2023, Peklin joined Seyffarth Motorsport to compete in the GTC Race series. [22] Racing in the GT4 class, Peklin took a lone win at Oschersleben, which helped him end the season seventh in the class standings. [23] During 2023, Peklin made a one-off appearance in TCR Europe at Monza for Volcano Motorsport, [24] finishing ninth and 14th in his only races in the series. [25] The Ukrainian was also due to compete in the following round at Barcelona, but did not turn any laps that weekend. [26]

Peklin returned to the GTC Race series the following year, joining Land-Motorsport as he drove an Audi R8 LMS GT3. [27] In his second season in the series, Peklin took an overall win at Spa and ended the year second in the Semi-pro standings. [28] During 2024, Peklin also represented Ukraine in the FIA Motorsport Games's GT discipline. [29] In his second FIA Motorsport Games appearance, Peklin finished sixth despite an early-race spin.
