JJL Motorsports is an American professional stock car racing team that currently competes in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series. JJL Motorsports is based in Sherrills Ford, North Carolina. The team fields the No. 97 Ford F-150 part-time for Jesse Little.

Stock car racing Form of automobile racing

Stock car racing is a form of automobile racing found mainly and most prominently in the United States and Canada, with New Zealand, Australia, Mexico, Great Britain and Brazil also having forms of stock car auto racing. Traditionally, races are run on oval tracks measuring approximately 0.25 to 2.66 miles. The world's largest governing body for stock car racing is the American NASCAR, and its Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series is the premier top level series of professional stock car racing. Top level races typically range between 200 to 600 miles in length. The cars were originally production models, but are now highly modified.

NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series Pickup truck racing series

The NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series (NGOTS) is a pickup truck racing series owned and operated by the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing, and is the only series in all of NASCAR to race modified production pickup trucks. The series is one of three national divisions of NASCAR, ranking as the third tier behind the second-tier NASCAR Xfinity Series and the top level Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series. Camping World was the title sponsor from 2009 to 2018; it replaced Craftsman, who served in that role from 1996 through 2008.

For the 2010 census it was included within the Lake Norman of Catawba CDP. It is part of the Hickory-Lenoir-Morganton Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Gander Outdoors Truck Series

Truck No. 97 history

In 2015, the team made their NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut at Dover as Team Little Motorsports fielding No. 97 Toyota Tundra in a partnership with ThorSport Racing, but an early crash ended Jesse Little's day early finishing 30th. The team also attempted the Chicagoland race but also finished 30th. The team returned at Texas and Homestead and finished 15th at Texas and 14th at Homestead respectively.

Toyota Tundra car model

The Toyota Tundra is a pickup truck manufactured in the United States by the Japanese manufacturer Toyota since May 1999. The Tundra was the first North American full-size pickup to be built by a Japanese manufacturer. The Tundra was nominated for the North American Truck of the Year award and was Motor Trend magazine's Truck of the Year in 2000 and 2008. Initially built in a new Toyota plant in Princeton, Indiana, production was consolidated in 2008 to Toyota's San Antonio, Texas, factory and is the only full-size pickup truck manufactured in Texas.

ThorSport Racing American racing team

ThorSport Racing is an American professional stock car racing team that currently competes in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series. The team is based on Sandusky, Ohio. Owned by Duke Thorson and his wife Rhonda, the team currently fields the No. 13 Ford F-150 full-time for Johnny Sauter, the No. 27 F-150 part-time for Myatt Snider, the No. 88 F-150 full-time for Matt Crafton, the No. 98 F-150 full-time for Grant Enfinger, and the No. 99 F-150 full-time for Ben Rhodes.

In 2016, the team was renamed to JJL Motorsports. The No. 97 truck made two attempts in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in the fall races at Texas and Homestead finishing 20th and 18th respectively.

In 2017, Jesse Little returned to the No. 97 truck, running 4 races. The first one was at Dover, where he finished 14th. Jesse Little then finished a season best 8th in Iowa. Little next raced at Bristol, continuing his strong performance, finishing 13th. His last start of 2017 came in Phoenix, where he was involved in a late race crash, finishing 18th.

In 2018, JJL Motorsports and Jesse Little returned for 9 races but now switched manufacturer to Ford. [1] Little finished with six top tens, the highest finish a 6th at Iowa, the team's best finish to date in the Truck Series. Roger Reuse drove the 97 at Mosport in collaboration with Jordan Anderson Racing.

Iowa Speedway motorsport track in the United States

Iowa Speedway is a 7/8-mile (1.4 km) paved oval motor racing track in Newton, Iowa, United States, approximately 30 miles (48 km) east of Des Moines. The track was designed with influence from Rusty Wallace and patterned after Richmond Raceway, a short track where Wallace was very successful. It has over 25,000 permanent seats as well as a unique multi-tiered Recreational Vehicle viewing area along the backstretch.

Roger Reuse American auto racing driver

Roger Reuse is an American professional stock car racing driver. He currently competes part-time in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series, driving the No. 04 Chevrolet Silverado for Jordan Anderson Racing. His brother, Bobby Reuse, is also a NASCAR driver.

In 2019 JJL and Jesse Little increased their schedule again, planning to run 12 to 15 races in the newly-renamed Gander Outdoors Truck Series. [2] Before the season-ending Ford EcoBoost 200, Diversified Utility Group LLC's Logan Puckett purchased the team and rebranded it as Diversified Motorsports Enterprises for the 2020 season. [3]

The 2019 Ford EcoBoost 200 is a NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series race held on November 15, 2019, at Homestead-Miami Speedway in Homestead, Florida. Contested over 134 laps on the 1.5 mile (2.4 km) oval, it was the 23rd and final race of the 2019 NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series season.
