Jack Andrew Leaning (born 18 October 1993) is an English first-class cricketer. [1] A right-handed batsman and right arm off-spin bowler,Leaning joined Kent County Cricket Club at the end of the 2019 season,having previously played all of his professional cricket for Yorkshire after making his professional debut in 2012. [2]
Leaning joined Yorkshire in 2008,starting at under 15 level. He went on to play for the Yorkshire Academy in the Yorkshire ECB County Premier League,and the Yorkshire Second XI in the Second XI Championship,before making his List A debut against Warwickshire in August 2012 and his first-class debut against Surrey in June 2013. [2] He became an established member of the Yorkshire side during the 2014 season.
In 2014,several York City F.C. fans sponsored Leaning in his first season as a full professional cricketer. [3] His father Andy [4] is a former player and goalkeeping coach of York. [5]
In August 2019 it was announced that Leaning would join Kent County Cricket Club at the end of the 2019 English cricket season. [6] In his second match for Kent he scored his maiden double-century,making 220 not out in a Kent record partnership for any wicket of 423 runs against Sussex at Canterbury in the 2020 Bob Willis Trophy. [7] The innings was his first century for three seasons. In April 2022,he was bought by the Oval Invincibles for the 2022 season of The Hundred. [8]
Mitchell Eric Claydon is an Australian-English former first-class cricketer. Although he was born at Fairfield,New South Wales he holds a British passport. Claydon is a left-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-fast bowler. Claydon most recently played for Sussex County Cricket Club. In July 2021,Claydon announced that he would retire from cricket at the end of the 2021 season.
Alexander Zak Lees is an English professional cricketer who plays internationally for the England Test cricket team. In domestic cricket,he represents Durham,captaining the ListA and t20 teams.
Andrew Carter is an English cricketer. A right-handed batsman and right-hand medium pace bowler,he began his county career with Nottinghamshire,making his first-class debut for them in June 2009. He also played on loan for Essex in 2010 and Glamorgan in 2015 while with Nottinghamshire. Carter joined Derbyshire prior to the 2016 season,but left the club later in the year. He represented England Lions in 2011.
Aneesh Kapil is an English first-class cricketer who has played for Worcestershire County Cricket Club and Surrey. A right-handed batsman and right-hand fast-medium pace bowler he made his first-class debut for Worcestershire against Sussex in August 2011.
Fynn Jake Hudson-Prentice is an English cricketer who plays for Sussex County Cricket Club. He is a right-handed batsman who bowls right-arm medium-fast.
Shai Diego Hope is a Barbadian cricketer,who plays as a wicketkeeper/batsman for the West Indies cricket team. He is also the current ODI captain of the Windies. In June 2018,he was named the Men's Cricketer of the Year,Test Cricketer of the Year and the ODI Cricketer of the Year at the annual Cricket West Indies' Awards. The following year,he was named the CWI ODI Player of the Year. He is generally regarded as one of the best ODI batsmen in the contemporary cricketing world. Hope has also twice been named,for both 2020 and 2022,in the ICC ODI Team of the Year.
Oliver Edward Robinson is an English professional cricketer who plays internationally for the England Test cricket team. In domestic cricket,he represents Sussex,having previously played for Yorkshire and Hampshire. He made his Test debut in 2021,and plays as a right-arm medium-pace bowler.He made a comeback in test cricket against India in the 4th test at Ranchi after a long break from injury.
Matthew Thomas Renshaw is an Australian international cricketer. He played eleven Tests for Australia between 2016 and 2018 as an opening batsman,and was recalled to the Test team in 2023. In domestic first-class cricket he plays for Queensland,and in the Big Bash League he has played for the Brisbane Heat and Adelaide Strikers.
Richard Mayes,known as Dicky Mayes,was an English professional cricketer who played 80 first-class cricket matches for Kent County Cricket Club between 1947 and 1953. Mayes,who was considered a stylish batsman,later coached cricket and played for Suffolk County Cricket Club. He had served in World War II.
Matthew Edward Milnes is an English professional cricketer who currently plays for Yorkshire County Cricket Club,having moved from Kent at the end of the 2022 season. Milnes was born in Nottingham and grew up in the city and attended West Bridgford School in the city before going to Durham University. A seam bowler,he was part of the Nottinghamshire Academy programme before making his first-class cricket debut in April 2014 for Durham MCC University against Derbyshire. He received a Half-Palatinate for his cricketing activities at university.

Jordan Matthew Cox is an English professional cricketer. He signed his first professional contract with Kent County Cricket Club in October 2018,having joined the county club at age 10,played for them at age-group levels and been a member of the club's academy programme,winning the John Aitken Gray award as the best academy scholar in 2018.
The 2020 Bob Willis Trophy was a first-class cricket tournament held in the 2020 English cricket season,and the inaugural edition of the Bob Willis Trophy. It was separate from the County Championship,which was not held in 2020 due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in the United Kingdom. The eighteen county cricket teams were split into three regional groups of six,with the two group winners with the most points advancing to a final held at Lord's. The maximum number of overs bowled in a day was reduced from 96 to 90,and the team's first innings could be no longer than 120 overs.
In 2020 Kent County Cricket Club were scheduled to compete in Division One of the County Championship,the Royal London One-Day Cup and the 2020 t20 Blast. However,the season was heavily disrupted by the global COVID-19 pandemic,with no county cricket fixtures played until August. For the shortened season,the majority of counties voted on 7 July to play first-class and Twenty20 cricket,with the Royal London One-Day Cup being cancelled. Instead of the County Championship this year,the 18 first-class counties competed for the 2020 Bob Willis Trophy,which consisted of three regional groups of six teams and a final at Lord's.
Jack Joshua Carson is a professional cricketer. He made his first-class debut on 1 August 2020,for Sussex in the 2020 Bob Willis Trophy. He was Sussex's leading wicket-taker in the competition,and also the 2021 County Championship. Carson is eligible to play international cricket for either England or Ireland.
The 2021 County Championship was the 121st cricket County Championship season in England and Wales. For the first phase of the tournament,the teams were split into three groups of six,with each side playing ten matches. The top two teams from each group progressed into Division One for the second phase of the competition,with the other teams progressing to Divisions Two and Three. The team that finished top of Division One became the county champions;and the top two teams from Division One contested a five-day match at Lord's for the Bob Willis Trophy. On 17 December 2020,the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed all the fixtures for the tournament. After completion of the group stage on 14 July 2021,the ECB confirmed the fixtures for the division stage on 22 July 2021.

In 2023,Kent County Cricket Club competed in the 2023 County Championship,the 2023 One-Day Cup and the 2023 T20 Blast. The season was the seventh in charge for head coach,and former player,Matthew Walker. Sam Billings retained the club captaincy that he was first awarded in 2018. In June 2023,Billings stepped down as captain in the County Championship for the remainder of the season after a run of poor form in the format,with Jack Leaning taking over the captaincy. Ryan ten Doeschate left his position as batting coach after a single season with Kent,to take up a role with the Kolkata Knight Riders. Former Worcestershire head coach Alex Gidman joined Kent as a replacement for ten Doeschate.
