A civil township is a widely used unit of local government in the United States that is subordinate to a county. The term town is used in New England, New York, and Wisconsin to refer to the equivalent of the civil township in these states. Steuben County is a county located in the northeast corner of the U.S. state of Indiana. The county was named after Baron von Steuben, a Prussian military officer who helped train the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War.

[2] Lakes in this township include Bass Lake, Beaverdam Lake, Deep Lake, Grass Lake, Hogback Lake, Howard Lake, Lake Arrowhead, Otter Lake, Pine Canyon Lake, Shallow Lake and Stayner Lake.
