Jarmanpreet Singh (born 18 July 1996) is an Indian field hockey player who plays as a defender. He is selected in the Indian team for the 2024 Summer Olympics, which is his debut Olympics. [1] [2]
Singh is from Amritsar, Punjab. Earlier, he played for Railway Sports Promotion Board in the domestic tournaments. But later joined Income Tax department. [3]
Singh was part of the Indian junior team at the Junior World Cup 2016. [1] He was banned for two years in 2016 as he failed a dope test after he took a painkiller prescribed by his doctor for back pain. [1] [4]
He made his senior international debut at the 2018 Men's Hockey Champions Trophy in Breda where India won the silver medal. [5] He was part of the gold medal-winning Indian team at the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou. [6] [7]

Harbinder Singh is a former field hockey player from India. He started his international career in 1961 at the age of 18 years [youngest member of the team] with a tour to New Zealand and Australia with Indian hockey team. During the span of 12 years from 1961 to 1972 had represented the country in three Olympics – Tokyo 1964 — gold medal, Mexico 1968 — bronze medal and was also selected as a centre forward in the "World XI", in Munich 1972 — bronze medal.
Bahadur Singh Chauhan, born on 8 February 1946 in a Sikh Rajput family is a former Indian shot putter. Between 1973 and 1985 he won three gold, two silver and three bronze medals at the Asian Games and Championships. He placed 15th at the 1980 Summer Olympics, and was honoured with Arjuna award and Padma Shri. He is a recipient of Dronacharya Award, by the government of India. He worked as the head coach of India's athletics team before retiring in 2020
Parattu Raveendran Sreejesh is an Indian field hockey coach and former player. He was the captain of the national team and played as a goalkeeper. Since 2024, he is the head coach of the India men's national U-21 team. He is regarded as one of the best goal keepers in the history of field hockey.
