Sanjay Rana (born 5 May 2001) is an Indian hockey player who plays as a defender. [1] He is also one of the second drag flickers for the Indian team which won gold medal in 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou. [2] He is selected to represent India in the 2024 Summer Olympics at Paris. [3] [4]

Early life

Sanjay hails from Dabra village, near Hisar, in Haryana. [5] [3] He played for Chandigarh in his initial years as a junior but later represented Haryana state in the domestic events. [5] From 2011 to 2017, he trained at the Chandigarh Hockey Academy. He is an alumnus of Chandigarh University. [6]

He has scored the most number of international goals for India in modern day hockey. He led the team to clinch the bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. This was his second bronze in three appearances at the Olympics. Singh also captained the team to win a gold at the 2022 Asian Games. He has won the Player of the Year title at the FIH Awards thrice.

Bali is a three time holder of Best Player of the Tournament award in the All India Railway Women Hockey Championship.

Deepika Soreng is an Indian field hockey player from Jharkhand. She made her senior India debut in 2024 in the FIH Hockey Pro League 2023–24. She plays as a forward for Railway Sports Promotion Board and Hockey Jharkhand in the domestic tournaments and for Soorma Hockey Club in the Hero Hockey India League 2024.
