Jessica Rose Epel Alupo,commonly known as Jessica Alupo,is a Ugandan politician who is the ninth and current vice president of Uganda since 2021. She is also an educator,and former military officer. She previously served in the cabinet of Uganda as minister of education between 2011 and 2016. She is also an elected member of parliament as Katakwi District's women's representative. [2]
She was born in Katakwi District on 23 May 1974. She attended Apuuton Primary School. She then attended Kangole Girls School for her O-Level studies. For her A-Level education,she studied at Ngora High School. Alupo trained as a high school canteen attendant before she underwent the officer cadet course at the Uganda Junior Staff College in Jinja. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science and linguistics,obtained in 1997 from Makerere University. Her first master's degree,the Master of Arts in international relations and diplomacy,was also obtained from Makerere University in 2008. She also holds a Diploma in public administration and management,obtained in 2008 from the Uganda Management Institute (UMI). Her second master's degree is the Masters in public administration and management,obtained in 2009,also from Makerere University. [3]

In 2001,she entered politics as a candidate for the Katakwi District women's representative. She ran on the ticket of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) political party. She won and was re-elected in 2006. In 2009,she was appointed as state minister for youth and children affairs. [4] In 2011,she was re-elected to her parliamentary constituency. In the cabinet reshuffle of 27 May 2011,she was promoted to the post of minister of education and sports. [5] She replaced Namirembe Bitamazire,who was dropped from the cabinet.
Alupo is married to Innocent Tukashaba. [6] She is reported to enjoy reading,community mobilization,and travel. [7] [8]
Syda Namirembe Bbumba is a Ugandan accountant,politician and banker. She served in the Cabinet of Uganda as Minister of Energy and Minerals from 2002 to 2006,Minister of Gender,Labor and Social Development from 2006 to 2008,Minister of Finance from 2009 to 2011,and Minister of Gender,Labor and Social Development again from 2011 to 2012. She was also the elected Member of Parliament for Nakaseke County North,Nakaseke District She was the Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on National Economy and also Chairperson of the Parliamentary Islamic Banking Forum. She was Sub-Saharan Africa's representative to the OIC Women Advisory Panel.
Janat Balunzi Mukwaya is a politician and former Major in the military of Uganda. Currently she is a Senior Presidential Advisor Before that,she previously served as the Minister for General Duties in the Office of the Prime Minister from 16 February 2009 until 27 May 2011. the Minister of Gender,Labour and Social Affairs from 6 June 2016 until December 2019. Minister of Trade and Industry from June 2006 until February 2009. In May 2011,she temporarily retired from politics and was replaced in the cabinet by Kiddu Makubuya. She also served as the elected member of Parliament for Mukono South Constituency in Mukono District,from 2006 until her retirement in 2011.
Maria Emily Lubega Mutagamba was a Ugandan economist and politician. She was the minister of tourism,wildlife and antiquities in the Ugandan Cabinet from 15 August 2012 until 6 June 2016.
Ruth Nankabirwa Ssentamu is a Ugandan politician,who serves as the Minister of Energy and Mineral Development in the Ugandan Cabinet,effective 8 June 2021. Although she told her supporters "If the cows vote,let them vote,I want to get 120%" she lost her seat as Women MP for Kiboga District in January 2021.
MusumbaIsaac Isanga is a Ugandan lawyer and politician. He served as the State Minister for Regional Foreign Affairs,from June 2006 until May 2011. In the cabinet reshuffle on 27 May 2011,he was dropped from the cabinet and was replaced by Asuman Kiyingi. He also served as the elected Member of Parliament (MP),representing "Buzaaya County",Kamuli District,from 1996 until 2011. During the 2011 national elections,he lost to Muzaale Martin Kisule Mugabi,during the National Resistance Movement (NRM) primaries. In 2016,he bounced back into the 10th parliament,representing Buzaaya County,in Kamuli District,on the NRM ticket. In the 2021 elections,he lost in the NRM primaries to Martin Muzaale and decided to contest as an Independent candidate and further lost to the NRM’s flag bearer,Muzaale Martin Kisule Mugabi
Simon Ejua is a Ugandan politician. He was the state minister for transport in the Ugandan Cabinet from 1 June 2006 until 27 May 2011. He survived the cabinet reshuffle of 16 February 2009. In the cabinet reshuffle of 27 May 2011,he was dropped from the cabinet and was replaced by Stephen Chebrot He also served as the elected Member of Parliament,representing Vurra County,Arua District,from 2006 until 2011. In the 2011 national elections,he lost his parliamentary seat to Sam Agatre Okuonzi,an independent politician,who is the incumbent MP for that constituency.
George William Thembo Nyombi is a Ugandan economist and politician. He is the executive director Uganda Communications Commission a position he assumed on 24 November 2023 and a former State Minister for Information Technology in the Ugandan Cabinet. He was appointed to that position on 27 May 2011. He replaced Alintuma Nsambu,who was dropped from the Cabinet. Prior to that,he served as the State Minister for Luweero Triangle in the Office of the Prime Minister,from 2009 until 2011. Nyombi Thembo is also a former Member of Parliament (MP),for "Kassanda County South",Mubende District. He has continuously represented the constituency since 2001.
Geraldine Namirembe Bitamazire is a Ugandan academic and politician. She is the Chancellor of the Uganda Management Institute. She was minister of education from 1979 to 1980 and again from 2005 to 2011. She also served as the member of parliament representing Mpigi District women in the Ugandan Parliament from 2001 to 2011.
Aronda Nyakairima was a Ugandan military officer and politician who served in the cabinet of Uganda as minister of internal affairs from 2013 until his death on 11 September 2015. Previously,he served as the chief of defence forces in the Uganda People's Defence Force (UPDF) from 2003 to 2013.
Rukiya Kulany Chekamondo,sometimes spelled as Rukia Kulany Chekamondo,is a Ugandan educator and politician. She was the State Minister for Privatization in the Ministry of Finance,from June 2006 until May 2011. In the cabinet reshuffle of 27 May 2011,she was dropped from the cabinet and replaced by Aston Kajara. She also served as the elected Member of Parliament (MP),for Kapchorwa District Women's Representative,from 2006 until 2011. During the 2011 national elections,she was defeated by the current incumbent MP,Phyllis Chemutai,an Independent politician.
Amelia Anne Kyambadde is a Ugandan politician,philanthropist and Women activist. She is the Senior Presidential Advisor on Industry to the President of Uganda. She served as the Cabinet Minister of Trade,Industry and Cooperatives in the Ugandan Cabinet from 2016 to 2021. She replaced Kahinda Otafiire,who was appointed Minister for Justice. Amelia Kyambade represented Mawokota County North in Mpigi District,for two terms in office which ended in May 2021.
James Shinyabulo Mutende was a Ugandan veterinarian,economist,academic and politician. He was the State Minister of Industry in the Ugandan Cabinet from 27 May 2011 until his death. He replaced Father Simon Lokodo,who was appointed State Minister for Ethics &Integrity in the Office of the President. On account of being a cabinet minister,James Mutende was also an ex officio Member of Parliament.
Rebecca Amuge Otengo is a Ugandan politician. As of 2017,she was appointed as Uganda's Ambassador to Ethiopia and Djibouti with residence in Addis Ababa. This position also makes her Uganda's Permanent Representative to the African Union (AU),Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) as well as UNECA She is the former State Minister for Northern Uganda in the Cabinet of Uganda. She was appointed to that position on 27 May 2011. Rebecca Amuge was an elected Member of Parliament as Alebtong District Women's Representative.

She is the first female prime minister of Uganda.

Previously,he was the State Minister for Economic Monitoring and had earlier served as the State Minister for Information,Communication,ICT and National Guidance.
