Job Kurian (born 29 July 1982) is an Indian singer and composer who works in both indie music and in Malayalam films. [1] He won the South Indian International Movie Award for Best Male Playback Singer in Malayalam in 2023.

Early life and education

Job Kurian was born in Vattiyoorkavu, Kerala. [2] He attended St. Shantal, Christ Nagar, and Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan for schooling. [2] He pursued his B.Tech. at Malanad College of Engineering, Karnataka. [1]

Personal life

Job married Athira on 10 November 2012 at St. Joseph's Church in Thiruvananthapuram. [3] The couple has two sons, with the first born on 25 April 2014. [3] [4]

Career

In 2006, Job participated in the television reality show Super Star, aired on Amrita TV, and became the runner-up. [5] [6] He made his debut as a playback singer in the 2007 film Goal . [7] With the album Thalam, he made his debut as a composer, alongside Charan and Yakzan. [8] In 2015, he debuted as a film composer in Rasam . [5] [9] He started a music project in 2017 called Hope, which consisted of five tracks. [5] Job has been featured along with bands like Avial and Shankar Tucker Band. [8]

Ennu Ninte Moideen is the soundtrack to the 2015 film of the same name directed by R. S. Vimal. Based on the real life story of B. P. Moideen and Kanchanamala which happened in Mukkam, Kozhikode in the 1960s, the film starred Prithviraj Sukumaran and Parvathy Thiruvothu as the principal characters. M. Jayachandran, Ramesh Narayan and Gopi Sundar composed the 10-song soundtrack, the latter of whom also composed the background score. Satyam Audios released the soundtrack on 29 August 2015.
